Good morning, Gentlemen. Ladies. Barbarians.

Could Barbarians read warning labels?

Well, he is violating another safety rule about having someone hold the bottom of the ladder for you so it doesn't tip or slide out from the bottom. They did follow the rules about not painting wooden ladders though ...
Battle safety is an underappreciated science. Sir Robin was its first disciple.

Well, obviously, the barbarian scaling the ladder is misusing the ladder. The "This is not a step" language is clearly backwards, so he would be hard pressed to read it, understand it and act upon its safety mandate. To properly mitigate this error, he should get back off the ladder and turn it around before attempting to scale it. I wonder if this would be sufficient to void the warranty or at least the manufacturer's liability?

The ladder was put there by the defenders because a defender had already zeroed in on the target area. No need to aim, just launch the weapon at the known firing position.

No, because the warning should have been printed in both directions, as well as on the bottom of the pseudo-step.

Note also that the ladder is substandard - it does not have side rails that extend significantly beyond the last step. The ladder being carried by the two men below has the right configuration.

EDIT: Also, those two big hills in the background should have lookout towers on them, round, not too tall and painted pink to make them more eye-catching.

Got him in the backside, eh? OK. That sort of thing is not legal in Arkansas, but it may be in Massachusetts.

How can you be sure? Perhaps it's a function of the artist's perspective or angular parallax of the drawing against the tower? What measurements can you rely upon to state your claim? I'd recommend you settle out of court.

The case would be heard in the same court as Wily Coyote vs. Acme Manufacturing Company.
