Dood. Were you just *waiting* for me to drop the ball on that one, or was that a gen-u-ine UNP?

I left this for you on the COVID thread too, Zilch.

ETA: Man oh man, I hope they don't cancel the NFL this year...

The problem was identified and corrected by the coaching staff. Eagle receivers will no longer coat their hands with WD-40.

Zilch: I took this out of the COVID thread. I figure since this is the home of all things banal, that anything not even remotely to COVID should be here instead.

And how are negotiations with Dak going?

OK. Have it your way. After the loss to the Seahawks ended their season, Zach Ertz had this to say:

"It has been tough. It has been real tough. It hurts."*

A combination of genuine and mistake. I just entered the forum, and thought I visit here and say hello, checked post number and read the #post number from the second last post instead of the last so I had no clue it would be a new page.

Dak got 'tagged' as the franchise player. The two sides have until July 15 to negotiate another package. They'll get it done, but it will be expensive. I'm thinking Aaron Rodgers type of money ($30MM/year).

Hey! I've got an idea! Maybe we can get Troy Aikman out of retirement, so he can come in and lay an egg / get injured in a playoff game. You know-kind of like Josh McGown?

If Jerry doesn't sign him this year, it will be more difficult next year. Dak knows there's a team with a head coach who wins Super Bowls, and just happens to have a vacancy at QB.

So far Dak seems underwhelmed by Mr. McCarthy's credentials. Dak is reportedly asking to be the NFL's highest paid QB.

The Eagles paid for not dressing their 3rd string QB...but how many teams dress all 3?

I notice the Cowboys signed the QB the Eagles cut in training camp, Clayton Thorson. The Eagles have some other ex-players they'd like the Cowboys to sign.

Of course he is. It's a contract year and his numbers the last two years have been on par with the NFL's QB elite. His agent(s) would have to have their heads examined if they didn't ask for him to be the NFL's highest paid QB.

Speaking of overpaid players, how about Malik Jackson, DeSean Jackson and that $26MM in dead cap paid to Alshon Jeffrey? Jeffrey hasn't had a 1,000 season yet. And he's probably a locker room cancer. Couldn't happen to a better team.

The Jacksons are proven players who got hurt. The Eagles reportedly led the NFL in player games lost to injury in each of the last 3 years. They once again re-organized the medical staff with some new people.

It's not dead money - Jeffrey is still very much on the team for the next 2 years. GM Howie Rosenman just spoke about that. But it was a bad contract from the beginning, and restructuring just made it worse. Tell me, who has the worst Cowboy contract?

People seem to have forgotten that Alshon played the entire Super Bowl season with a torn rotater cuff. And played well. Quite frankly, Wentz needed criticism during the season, and Jeffrey wasn't the only one who said so.

By the way, with the departure of Malcolm Jenkins, who do you have at the safety position? And after Howard left, what depth do you have at RB? Boston Scott? Miles Sanders? Elijah Holyfield? Who? Who? And who?

I appreciate the drive to get younger-that's always underrated. Especially at the RB position. But c'mon man.

The new Eagles philosophy is 'no more band aids'. We'll see if they stick to it.
Here is the safety position: https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/safety-salary-cap-space-rodney-mcleod-jalen-mills-will-parks
Where you been? Sanders and Scott ran all over your team in the big game. Running backs are easy to find when the O line makes holes.
