Yes, tea. The preferred drink in any situation. Even more so when the going gets tough. And especially so when your HQ is about to become bombed to smithereens by multiple incoming waves of Stukas,

I do like a good chai tea. as for the rest. well....Earl Grey.....HOT. I'm not as much as a fan as Picard.

I would usually get mine made at a snack bar in a clinic attached to a hospital when I took my stepmother there for an early appointment. I may have some in those bags that are premade and sold but I don't think that I have made those. But from the shop, it is a very nice beverage.

Good morning!

The sun is shining - somewhere!

The grass is green - somewhere!

It is autumn - somewhere!

Grump.

Evening.

It is raining somewhere. It sure is snowing.

The grass is more like a brown muddy mess, somewhere.

The flowers are indeed blooming, somewhere, and therefore some poor schmuck needs to take his allergy medicine that is stuck on a ship in the Red Sea.

Grump.

Somebody seems to have gotten their thread posts mixed up.

The sun was still shining all day for you - there were just clouds and sky dandruff in the way.

Now the sun is shining, and it is in the middle of the night. I am just standing in the Earths shadow.

And there was no mix up. One is allowed, I hope, to feel a little grumpy when Gibraltar is under attack. An attack that should never have been allowed, but for a mix-up in what is allowed the defences were understrength. And the Axis pounced before the situation could be fixed. Fortunately the defences held.

The Rock is a fairly interesting place to visit if you have the opportunity to go there. If you come in from Spain you get to walk across the runway. And there are miles of tunnel carved into the Rock - it would be hard to take out by assault. And if you are into nature there is a really friendly group of monkeys near the top of the Rock.

That actually sounds like very nice weather. Especially with very young and not so very young children so they can stay home and spend quality time with their parents and/or other relatives.

USS America, how's the new house coming along?....GP

Funny you should ask, GP & Orm! I just happen to have a couple of new pictures from this weekend.

The framing crew is getting to work and they are close to completing the supports and sub-flooring for the main floor. Busy with activity over there when we went on Saturday! You can see the other two houses on our side of the street in 3 different stages of work. Roof going on in the distance, framing going up next door, and ours just sprouting from the foundation.

Here is another shot from where our driveway will meet the street. You can see most of the lumber for the house is already delivered. That's a great sign, as lumber costs and availability are a big concern for builders right now and this could have caused an additional delay.

Looking good.

Why is lumber an issue at the moment? I would have thought that US had all the lumber they needed produced in the States. That no international commerce was needed.

What direction will your backyard face? Will you be able to drink your morning tea on the front porch and see the sun rise?

Your house building is a source for inspiration.

The must be using house seeds if they sprout that way.

Meh.

Was it as good as the second to last game that the USA team played in the 1980 Winter Olympics?

Glad you guys continue to be interested in the process, Orm! There is a lumber crunch in the US due to some supply side issues, with slowed production from raw trees to cut lumber due to the pandemic, as well as initial predictions that the demand would also plummet due to COVID. Instead, the housing market took off here like a rocket! So, demand quickly outpaced the reduced production for several months and they have not yet caught up. Housing prices are also skyrocketing for new construction as well as resale homes. We are very glad to have locked in our price back in September!

The backyard will face East and the morning sun will rise over the trees in the back. We will have a fully screened porch in the back where we can sit and sip our morning coffee and enjoy the sunrise.
