To be honest, I've always questioned how effective those traps are, but they're sure fun setting up.

Come to think of it, those plans is almost a carbon copy of the plans I execute in AE. Is that why they never work?

Hi all,

One of the biggest tornadoes in Europe ever happened yesterday...

This was very close to Austria and just 5 hours drive by car from me...

No worries - a five hour drive is a safe distance for you - tornadoes rarely go more than 100 miles on the ground.

Canada's first EF 5 tornado touched down at Elie, just west of Winnipeg and about six miles from me. Thankfully it only stayed on the ground for about a mile and tossed around a few combine harvesters before it dissipated.

Canoerebel was in a cafe near his home having coffee when a tornado ripped through about 150 meters away - much too close.

I know that it is no direct danger to me (or other countries in vicinity) - I just wanted to point how Europe is really close together!

When I was 11 I witnessed a small tornado go through a part of the town I grew up in. Pretty scary.
Then about 8 years ago while working, the tornado siren went off. I drove home because my wife was scared and I was close to there anyway. On my way home I was blown off the road by the wind.
A second time, the rotation of a possible tornado went over the apartment building I was living in and it sounded very much like a freight train going over head.
I have a healthy respect for mother nature....GP

I saw three small funnel clouds drop then ascend into the one cloud over a city. No harm, no foul, but the Tornado Siren went off. No one really ran and hid.

Another time at a university, a storm came through and three tornadoes were just starting to form. Imagine a circular wall like the sides of a bowl dropping from the cloud and that is what they looked like. A town about 30 miles or 50 kilometers away had three small tornadoes in the area.

Where I like now, we might get a weak F2 tornado but that is about it. Once a weak, however, the ground shakes.

And here is one that I took of a threatening formation right over Winnipeg Airport, just a couple of miles away. It had spinning whisps of cloud coming from it but it never actually spawned a tornado.

Edit: Wrong Pic. OK - finally found it in the Google Cloud
