Well, Hell.no has a warning for icing on ships and boats. Does that mean that Hell,no froze over or is freezing over? It is not supposed to get above freezing there until next Monday.
Maybe Orm could get more information on this situation since he does live near there.
I don't think it's a good idea to tell a Swede that he is a Norwegian ...

I did not state that he is a Norwegian, I merely pointed out that he lives near there. The languages are mutually intelligible so he could call over there and ask . . .

We are in the house! Everything went great. The few hiccups we encountered were handled with great attention by the involved parties and we are fairly well settled in. Still lots of unpacking to do upstairs, but the downstairs is almost completely finished. Back at work yesterday from the new office in the bonus room and work is as crazy as I expected.
Here is a shot of our first intentional break from the work of moving, sipping coffee on the screen porch as sunset approaches last Thursday evening. Life is good, my Brothers!

I don't see any snow on the ground . . .

Thanks Zovs and BB. BB, there will be lawn to mow come spring. They seeded it, but it will need plenty of work to become a "real" lawn.
Too bad about the snow . . .
My step-uncle in the California desert pumped out the septic onto the lawn. It stank but he did get green grass. If you don't want to do that, see about getting some stuff from that farmer with the cows and have it tilled into the ground - especially where you want to have any garden.

Thanks, RJ. We are loving it out here, but still only 15 minutes to most shopping we need. We are in a development, but right at the edge of it for now, so it looks like nothing around us from the back porch.

It looks like you have enough space for a garden, some berry plants and a few fruit trees. If you do that, at your age I would consider using raised beds and intense gardening. Also, look up raising 100 pounds of white potatoes in a 4 by 4 by 4 foot space!

What you are seeing in the cleared portion of our backyard is enough space to put in a large in ground swimming pool. Behind that, the invasive Callery Pear trees with their 4 inch spikes will be turned into firewood and eventually replaced by a good number of red and yellow maples and a few red oaks. Neither of us has much interest in gardening.

I thought that Hell froze over often. Usually every year. But what do I know? It is not like I live there. And no direct line either. And close, I suppose, is a relative thing. Britain is close as well. Or ask those in Lindisfarne when Hell made an uninvited appearance (allegedly). Does that prove that Britain was close to Hell already in 793 A.D.?

And so could you, my friend. Swedes, and Norwegians, understand each other well enough. But there is some risk for serious misunderstandings if one is not careful. Many words has switched their meanings in the different languages. Almost all in Scandinavia talk English well enough for a normal conversation.
