Jeanine and I are really enjoying our first Christmas in the new house! I had two weeks of crazy work, but now, I'm off until January 3rd. I get to actually relax and rest a bit. In addition to trying to get my game with Mike Solli going again, I'm going to be playing with some of my new toys. A hedge trimmer and chainsaw will get broken in as I start to work on the property a bit. Planning to pick up some retaining wall bricks tomorrow to build a temporary fire pit that we can move out of the way when the pool work is able to get started. No timeline for that yet.

Good to see you around, Lee! Congrats on your new house. We don't have quite enough room to have a range out back, but I'm on the waiting list to join a fantastic shooting club just 4 miles away. You're right about the relative costs of a pool and ammo.

We've budgeted well and I have a raise starting in January, so we might be able to swing both.

Mrs. USSA had successful and uncomplicated surgery to relieve pressure on a nerve in her foot. Very similar to carpel tunnel, except in the foot instead of wrist/hand. Several weeks of healing and taking it easy should let her finally get back on the road to the active lifestyle that we both love. Between her successful back surgery last December, and now the foot, she hasn't been able to run or cycle for more than 3 years.

I don't know about you

but I hope that the Missus has a speedy recovery.

I have not run in many, many years. If I could show the X-ray pictures of my right foot, you might understand why.
