Well, accidents do happen. Unless its something endemic to Russian hardware?

Not Russian...Soviet. It'll take a few decades of hard work to change attitudes. And workplace practices. Safety didn't hold a high priority in the Soviet world. Making goal did.

The temerity of the Swedes! Calling for freedom of assembly, religion and whatnot! Why, the nerve of them....

Started my latest project last night.

My dad's cousin, before he passed away a couple years ago left me a model 1816 Harper's Ferry musket, built in 1832. I finally managed to pick it up last weekend.

I started the steel wool/WD-40/409/metal polish treatment, and it's cleaning up pretty well. I think it's probably shootable. It was converted to percussion from flintlock at some point, probably in the 1850s. I'd like to get the old beat up nipple off and replaced with a new one.

Sure you have. Most of us frown on 'humour'[sic]. We prefer humor, of course. Remember, chappy-when it comes to humor, there's no room for 'u'.

Nothing to do with your comment Lecivius - it was Mr Snotty - I mean seriously, who expected a serious comment around here?

Oh well, never mind eh?

Right. THE THREAD!!! is always open top people that don't take themselves too seriously. It's our (well and "no politics") primo rule.
