I see there was a thread about this on steam, and the dev was very resistant to the idea. I'v just had a race with poisoned horses. Due to a bad start I was at the back of the paddock, and had SEVEN (7) failures to accelerate in a row. Basically the event completely killed ANY chance I had to even place let alone win. And I've also had the "bottled to death without ANY chance to avoid".

It's a good game, but random events shouldn't kill a race before it even starts.

One bad race doesn't matter that much... just trundle around until someone wins, then come back to fight again next time

As hams days, sometimes you just need to write a race off. But don't autocomplete a race until someone has crossed the cinish line, or the game wil automatically assign a win to one of your main competitors.

Moreover, I've won races with almost all of the random events, and a win is all the sweeter in those cases...
