The whole game seems very slow (scrolling, zooming), and when I zoom a little, everything becomes very pixelated.

Please bear with me, this is my first Matrix Games game apart from Hell (which was awesome), so maybe it's working as intended, I just need to get used to it.

Status: offline 		Also when I click on end turn, the game zooms out so I can't see the points of the arrows and also it is impossible to read the unit names.

2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

Status: offline 		Also, have you installed the 1.02 patch that was released today? It has a fix that should solve this.

Status: offline 		I had a bad PSU that was replaced last week and I also performed a complete format/reinstall, my computer is fine, I play a few other games as well without any problems.

1.02 patch is installed.

right for me, you have a 64bit o/s, which wants or can use ram, but you have limited it by adding or sharing you main 4gb of system ram with your vga ram, for me i'd go into your bios and disable the shared video ram leaving it free for your system, as it will use it better, as it is, you slowing it down imo

i3 is a cut above a Celeron cpu with dual cores, but for me, as most games are on single core anyway, it's better to have faster single or dual core cpu's than 4 slow cores, again imo (in my opinion)


second i'd also look and see if there is a later video driver out for you're chip

Status: offline 		I'll do as you advised, but honestly, I can't believe that my system is not good enough for this game. Don't get me wrong, I don't really care about graphics (after all, I still play Imperialism 1 which was released in 1997), but I do play Europa Universalis IV and Age of Wonders III even World of Tanks sometimes, they all need far more resources than Brother against Brother and they run smoothly even on high resolution and details with AA turned on. This game should run perfectly on any mid-level configuration from the early 2000s.

Also, my video card has 2 GB RAM, Windows won't touch that shared memory unless it for some crazy reason needs to.

Anyway, let's see if the newest nVidia driver helps.

Status: offline 		The game animations run at a pretty low frame rate, which we did to try to keep the game compatible with as many systems as possible. So if you're just seeing the animations run slowly, that is how the game works. We increased the frame rate with the 1.0.2 update, and are looking at ways of increasing it further in a future patch.

The zoom feature isn't intended to give beautiful graphics, and I was actually very reluctant to add it at all because I knew some players wouldn't like the pixellated effected it creates. However, it was very much a feature-in-demand among our many beta testers, so I added it anyway.

As Eric noted - the zoom is more of a magnifying glass, so as you zoom in you will see things get more pixellated. We are experimenting with higher frame rates for future updates, but until we test those options internally on a variety of systems, we won't make them available. I don't believe this is a resource issue though.

BAB is based on a relatively old core engine with a new game built on it, unlike Hell which is based on a much newer engine, so the way the graphics work is based on a set resolution of 2D sprites which don't zoom or scroll the way the 3D graphics in Hell do.

If you have any doubts, feel free to post a screenshot or video of what you are seeing and we can confirm whether or not it's working as expected.
