I do try to post as many screenshots as possible but at this time to make them and post them would directly take away from the game developement.

Tsss, don't worry about these screenshots, we can easily imagine what the game will look like (and it's much more stimulating to imagine than to actually see :) Keep on the good work that's the sole thing that keeps us faithful. Don't be surprised by the enthusiasm that's going through the fans, you've done the good things to keep it alive! By the way, I was wondering: You, are number nineteen but who is number one? :) (I know, you're not a number... :D

According to my elite hacking skills, there is no number one (click on the icon to display someone's profile, then change the number in the url) Perhaps Matrix could auction off the number one position for a little extra revenue! ;)

Take your time and get it right. This is a great game and it just gets better. This process illustrates how hard it is to build a good simulation-level game (versus a toy-level game like PG3). The entire process with SPxx begins to look like the building of the pyramids. SSI started it, Novastar and others made contributions. Now Matrix is leading the effort. We may all be in the grave and another generation of developers will be working on telepathic-holotronic Playstation-9s and rewriting the code for SPxxx.

Actually the low numbers were "used up" in testing the boards... We are making slow but sure progress! We will let you know when we think we can restart the "countdown" but we are at about D-5 and holding right now...

Yes, David, a little more time spent today can spare future grief, so, please take all the time your team needs. :) (of course, I assume pre-orders are not charged to 'visa-ville' until orders are shipped, thanks?) Albert

David mentioned my addiction to this Mega Campaign idea. Version 5.0 is significant enough of a change as to really stun you with the improvements. But you'll really want this Mega Campaign. I had originally set it up for about 70 scenarios or variants. Well :D, it's grown a bit since then, so here is a little bit more about it. There is really nothing difficult about a Mega Campaign. Mega Campaign is mainly a matter of choices, choosing a battle, then following the path that it may lead you, with your triumphs or losses determining which battle you will fight next. For example, if you are fighting at Agedabia, early in the campaign, and lose, you may miss some of the fighting and not be allowed back into battle (severe losses have caused your unit to be pulled from the line) until a few fights later. That means you lose the opportunity of scoring more points. Total victory is based on how many total points you garner in your long odyssey through the desert in 1941. You can fight as few as 28 or as many as 42 battles. Now battles have options, which mean that when you play it again (it has replay value) you can choose variants of the original battles which may or may not lead you down a different path. Or your score may be higher, allowing you to have more battles. The options go on and on. We've added a little flavor with some pretty intense hypothetical (but possible situations), such as rescuring POWS, raiding ammo dumps, looking for hidden LRDG units, looking for Rommel and rescuing him (He is lost in the desert and needs an escort). Or you might be a part of an end run, an amphibious assault behind Derna or at TObruk Harbor. Who knows, you may end up on escort duty, or fight off attacking LRDG units trying to kill Rommel! You could be fending off an amphibious assault by the British or looking for a lost German or Italian force. Perhaps you'll be given a special mission to steal some Matilda tanks from a British tank repair facility. And there are a lot more. So it is not just a matter of fighting, but a lot more chances and opportunities, some very unique will be found here. And now some interesting data. You might find this fascinating. There are a total of 132 scenarios and variants, 87 of them original scenarios. There are 200 text files of varying sizes, historical documents and over 200 pictures. Thus you will have all these fine improvements in 5.0 and this great new idea of a Mega Campaign to use them all. It will (along with the nearly 190 scenarios and 13 campaigns, a lot of both of them new)be enough to keep you busy :D Wild Bill

My earlier PC could not get the sound right after about version 4.1. That system had an ISA sound card and it recently died a gruesome death after AOL v6 install program re-flashed the mobo. I moved to my kid's system with a pentium 233 and a PCI-grade Crative card. That system would also not play the sound very well even though I bumped the memory up to 256MB. That system also died when a memory manager program attempted to reflash the mobo. I built my new system on an Asus A7V133 with an Athlon-900, 640MB of pc133 RAM (RAM is cheap. Buy RAM!) an integrated mobo audio codec and a dual display nVidia MX card so I can run diagnostics on a second monitor if I hit a game problem. I think that I may finally have a system which will enable the SP sound palett! I will patiently await the new software. Thanks for all of your work.
