Well I've been putting this off long enough. Time for me to step up to the bar. I am ready to purchase Command. What do I buy, and subsequently what steps do I take thereafter to get completely updated with all the latest patches, upgrades and scenarios? Looking forward to getting started!

Buy either this (from Matrix directly), or this (on Steam, they're convertible). Note that you should wait until the big Steam sale, since Command might go on sale in that.

That'll get you 1.07. To get the latest 1.08 RC, go to this thread and find Sunburn's latest release post (the top post isn't updated with the new releases). Download that file, then extract it over your Command install directory (in Program Files if you bought from Matrix, to find with Steam, right click on the application, select properties, click the "local files" tab in the properties window, then click on "browse local files"). You should get a warning about overwriting existing files (which you should do, since that's the update).

The v1.00 video tutorials (included on the starters thread pointed by thewood1) are still relevant for the most part, although a few of the UI elements displayed have changed since v1.00. One last question.... is there a way to view a list of the platforms in Command? Would love to see what the game offers.
