I find that the F3 command sometimes won't work for the currently selected unit/group. I've attached a save file at the point where I was having the issue (don't know if it will help though, seems like a GUI bug).

From the attached save, if I select the 'S 601 Rubis' whilst in group view and then press F3, the pointer doesn't change and it won't recognise my mouse clicks to select a new course. However, if I then select the 'Charles De Gaulle Task Group' and then press F3 I can select a course. Every time I go back to the sub it just won't accept the F3 command. If then click around the GUI (open/close various windows etc..), then the F3 functionality comes back.

FYI, at the time of the error I had the message log open in a separate window, the Database Viewer looking at #457 and the mission editor open (with no missions created).

I first though it was my Track-IR intercepting the keystrokes but I've managed to reproduce with that software shutdown (from a clean reboot).

EDIT: CMANO version is Build 678.15 (Steam edition)

I suspect, that with all those windows open, your cursor is focused on a window, not the map. You hit F3, the window doesn't recognize it, then click on the map and the map is suddenly in focus. It makes you think the F3 is being lost on the map, while its really being hit for one of the non-map windows.

I thought that but it doesn't explain that when I select the task group the F3 key works, if I then select the sub the F3 doesn't work (this is all done whilst the focus is back on the main window). I can go back and forth between the carrier group and the sub and the result is the same - F3 works for the carrier but not for the sub. It's very strange.

I just went back and forth over 50 times and had no issues with all the windows open.

I managed to reproduce it reliably and I think you were right thewood1, it looks like a focus quirk. Perhaps it's just the way I use CMANO but this is how I get the problem -

- Load my attached save as an example
- Click the S 601 Rubis
- Click the 'S 601 Rubis' hyperlink on the right 'Unit Status' to bring up its database view
- Click back onto the map (leaving the database view open) and then click the Charles De Gaulle, press F3 and put some random path on
- Now click the 'S 601 Rubis', press F3 and then try to plot a course. If find it won't work.

What happens is that as soon as you click back onto the Rubis the database view window gets the focus because it happens to be showing the item I've just clicked. Whenever I click back onto the map, if I try to select the Rubis again the database viewer gets the focus back. Clicking the Charlel De Gaulle doesn't have the same issue because that's not the item currently displayed in the DB viewer.

Minor issue, easily solved by just closing the db viewer if I want to plot the course for that particular unit that's currently in the DB viewer.

Cheers.

EDIT: Infact, it's not just F3, none of the keboard commands will work because the DB viewer automatically gets the focus if it happens to be showing the selected item at the same time.
