In this thread I'm going to show you how to edit your random games. You can use these techniques to make random games more interesting.

First Step is to create your random game and then click the Edit button to open your game in the editor.

Changing Diplomatic Settings (2a select diplomatics) (corrected diplomatic values in my initial screenshot)

In the screenshot below I've allied Yokohama Territory with Germania (Note: you will have no control of your AI ally). I then allied the two AI regimes.

Save your changes or press the "Main" button to prepare to launch your game.

As there appears to be several new ATG players around I'm bumping this back up top.

Thanks for the thread Webizen.
I would like to change a couple of SFT values for random A New Dawn 3 games. But it doesn't seem possible to alter any combat stats to SFTs after I make the world. Am I missing something? Any help greatly appreciated.

Almost everything is editable. I have never personally edited SFT values so can't answer your question definitively but check to be sure you have detached the masterfile. If attached that will prevent many edits I believe.

I have no idea how to detach the masterfile. Could you give me more specific instructions (or a link) on how to do that?
Thanks a LOT!

This is great info! I was wondering how I could change the color of my units (not headquarter stripe color)and although I haven't tried it yet I'm guessing this is the way to do it. Thanks again!!

This is a relatively easy edit for those who want to design their own map on a random game:

First generate a random game using a "small" map and all the parameters you want in your final product such as number of regimes, tech level (stone age or not), etc.

Then go into the "Settings" menu and add about 50 hexes to either the top or bottom of the map, then delete 50 hexes from the opposite side of the map. This will give you a clean map with only "Plains" on it which you can then edit to your heart's content.

When I return to "Main" I don't see any way to save my changes without starting it. I would like to save the changes so I can use it as a scenario and start up as different regimes. Also, is there any way to save the data as a masterfile?

I go to "Map" and click the computer icon at the bottom. I save the file in atgscenarios.

I reopened ATG and saw those icons on Map but then after making some changes to the Items (after deselecting the masterfile), all the icons disappear from the Map screen (except the return to Main).

I have just tested it with a scenario I edited. I had no trouble saving my changes, even after I removed the master file. Perhaps you could try saving first, then reloading the scenario, remove the master file and see if you have the computer icon.

This worked for me.

Thank you! That seems to work. In the initial random game creation, as soon as you detatch the masterfile, the save goes away. I had to save first then reload as scenario to be able to save changes.
