This particular scene is from the Okinawa episode, and shows a supposedly empty Japanese bunker. This illustrates the type of war that US Marines fought in 1945: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uVOoqTAbNc

That scene was on Peleliu.

Ok, I'm glad you were paying attention. I haven't watched the entire miniseries in a while, so it's time for me to revisit it.

I asked a guy who speaks Japaneses (he's not Japanese).
He said yer man is saying "Shoot"

I really hate that scene. My best friend is Japanese/German and it makes me sick that our countries went to war with each other. I know there were incidents of extreme brutality and loathing on both sides and little mercy was shown. What a hideous waste of lives.
