I've encountered a strange situation with setting Individual Op Fire. I first saw this in the first Boot Camp scenario, and opened another just to see if it happened in the second scenario.

When I select a unit by clicking on the unit in the hex (3D mode, I get the error beep when I hit "Ctrl +P" to open the OF Dialog. But, when I select the unit in the Unit Menu window, the OF Dialog opens fine.

This appears to be a minor glitch at the moment, but was wondering if I'm the only one seeing this. I'm sure it will be a minor irritant because I usually select individual units by selecting them from within the hex (I tend to jump back & forth between 2D & 3D). Sooner or later, I'll remeber to select them in the Unit Menu when I want to set individual op fire.

Other than that, looks good so far... please add the 2D zoom in to WW II soon! Thanks!

When you select the unit in the hex, maybe somehow by mistake you have two units selected? Attempting to open the opfire dialog with more than one unit selected (else no unit at all selected) would, yes, cause the error beep.

In some situations, Ctrl-P in particular will not work quite right. In those unusual circumstances, you should use the Tool Bar icon for opening the opfire dialog, else use the top-of-screen Units menu.

Sounds like you have a workaround in any case.

Thanks for the feedback.

Berto... No, I checked several times to make sure I only had one unit selected. But, as you say, there are workarounds; all I need to do is revise the way I've selected units over the years. It's all good

Actually, only selecting units from the Unit Menu could be a benefit; I can't recall how many times I've inadvertently had a unit selected from the hex, selected another in the menu and moved (or fired) both when I only meant to use the one.

Thanks for the reply

Then I do believe it's the above. It's some weird systems level thing. I am unable to account for it. I believe it may be alluded to somewhere in the Manual, where using either the Menu or the Tool Bar icon are the suggested workarounds. But you have your fix, so Life Is Good.

Here's what you do in situations where, with just one unit selected, Ctrl-P is not summoning the opfire dialog, and instead you are getting the beep: Toggle the Move/Fire Mode icon at the far left of the Tool Bar -- i.e., toggle Fire Mode ON -- then try Ctrl-P. Should work. Just did for me.

I've since noticed a couple of other things where using "Ctrl" + Keystroke isn't working when the unit is selected directly from the hex... the other one that I've used most often is Ctrl + D to toggle Digging In. Again, it's not a problem, just different from the earlier games; I can either select the unit from the menu or the toolbar button

Edit: Ctrl + Q is another.
