I'm curious about Jingcha HQs. I've googled it but all I have been able to know it is that Jingcha was the Communist Police so I infer it is something like a militarize police. Someone can provide more informations? Many thanks.

From Frederic Wakeman's "Spymaster" p. 189

The new Tianjin police were called �constables� (xunjing), xun meaning
�to patrol or go on circuit� and jing meaning �to warn.� Terminologically,
they stood somewhere in between traditional lictors (xunbu, �to patrol and
arrest�) and modern police ( jingcha, �to warn and investigate�).

Assuming you mean the Jingcha War Area HQ, this is aiui a representation of what seems to be known as in English the Hebei-Chahar Military Region - basically the directing org for guerilla-ish and civil-administration-with-guns stuff around the area north and west of Taiyuan to about the border of Manchuria by the KMT.

Always difficult to determine how meaningful these things are if you don't speak Chinese (which I don't) and probably not terribly easy if you do - ie is it an actual thing or is it just the govt saying it's doing a thing in order to look good - but in theory it's a sort of behind-the-lines-stuff HQ. I think.
