So much more work to do on this. But I wanted to just get this out for testing and playing.
I still need to construct the ruins hex terrain - that's going to take thought to be convincing.
Also more work on hillsides is needed for both desert and Mediterranean terrain -and I've done nothing yet on the night terrain.
I'll name the zip files with a date <daymonthyear> as I post updates. For now I'm dropping it on:

unzip it into your mod folder \Matrix Games\Campaign Series Middle East\mods
then enable the mod called 'CSME 120515 3D MausMan Graphics'
I assume the game is being run at true color.

Bill

here's another screenshot example.

You can actually edit your original post, and there's a dropdown in the attachment area that will embed it for you as well.

Hi Bill, just checked it out, nice work. Just an FYI, Des-Green Trees3, 4, 5d.bmp's, will need to have trees placed in the blank spots, to show forest where there are blank spots on the map now. Open a map in 2d, notice where forest are, switch to 3d and you will see it. I put trees in these three files for the official patch after we noticed this problem!

Very nice Crossroads. good to see it all in action. I still need to get to all the bridges and touchup railroad. You know I never noticed until last weekend that there's no way to include industrial hexes in the desert terrain. I was looking forward to adding POL tank farms at some desert ports.

Welcome Jason, contribution to the cause, right?

Did you know you can add some destoyable POL tanks in the org and scenario editors?

Ha, the work never stops does it

What a neat idea to put smoke in place after artillery shelling, instead of craters! From Into Africa:

Haven't picked up CSME yet. But I just wanted to pop in and say that this is absolutely beautiful pixel art, Maus!

Superb job.

I think the game just went up a few notches on my Wishlist.

Thanks. right, the target graphic was replaced with a smoke, but craters should still be there. It's a little out of sequence to call artillery, have smoke from the strikes appear, then the actual fire, then it instantly all goes away. But I do like the feel of seeing more dust and smoke in the game. I did a similar thing for the assault target.

On the side, I've also played with the sound files to give the feel of distance (sadly lots of examples of this online with Syria and Ukraine) I was trying to get a delay of sound relative to the graphic artillery strikes..I know details.

I did just notice the other day that there are units for POL tanks, very cool to treat it like a unit.

I'm going to try to get my graphics for 3d East Front together in the next couple days.

Desert and Med terrain looks really nice now. Do you happen to have the Medium and Light Bridge graphics available too? Everything else in scale the stock ones do stand out a bit...

Looking forward to EF terrain! And Snow!

Another weekend and time to make a little more progress. Built the bridges earlier in the week but have not posted yet. I'll see if I can get hillsides with roads/rail crossing and rubble together for another update.

Will be appreciated! Take your time, I just saturated the existing Med and Lt Bridges to blend in nicer. For a 2D boardgame geek I am enjoying the 3D now as well more than I dare to confess. All your fault!

I just uploaded an update. lots of small adjustments including work on roads crossing hills, fords (bridges), some work on railroads. also started working on the desert mud terrain. little late for Christmas but thought I'd send a replacement. So, deactivate the 120615 version and trash it, then download the CSME 122715 file and unzip into the mod folder and activate it.

One more update was posted 020716. This one includes the night terrain versions.

So that should cover most of it for this 3D mod -at least for most scenarios...

Maus Man, hi,

hugely impressive..

The Claudia Schiffer of 3D/John Tiller type graphic .

Normally am not keen on 3D in these type of games, stick to 2D. But these are superb.

All the best,
Kip.

Wow kipanderson,
I like that comparison! I've been away on other interests for the last few weeks here, but will try to keep that vision in mind as I get back on it.
