I'm reading a pretty good book about the Iran-Iraq War which came out recently:
http://www.amazon.com/Iran-Iraq-War-Pierre-Razoux/dp/0674088638/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451283841&sr=8-1&keywords=iran+iraq

It includes some pretty detailed descriptions of various air/naval actions by both sides--has anyone made any scenarios based on the accounts in this book?

It's a suprisingly interesting book about what I have always imagined as a very boring war.

Lots of detail about the difficulties both sides had in getting weapons/spare parts/munitions, and details of the attacks they mounted on enemy air bases/oil facilities/ships with whatever they could scrounge up. I highly recommend this book for anyone with the slightest interest in the topic.

Yea when i first started playing CMANO after doing the tutorials that came with the game, i was gona attempt the attack on H-3 scenario but it looked too complex.
Now after playing more scenarios and currently delving into Canarys Cage i feel i'd be up to taking on that beast, looks an epic scenario. Have to say though, Canarys Cage is a beast itself.

I will at some point create my own scenario based on the korean campaign from Falcon BMS, though personally after having just looked at the KS-19 AAA entry in the DB, a 4% PoH for aircraft doesnt do it justice imo. I've been shot down by those a few times when playing Falcon BMS flying an F-16...those things are deadly.

I have attempted this Scenario 15 times, and have never come close to a win. Obviously, I need some assistance with strategy. I have searched the Forum but did not find much help. Any guidance in how to win this scenario would be much appreciated.

Remember it's a 4% per burst, which you'll get a lot of with AAA. Fly a jet low and fast in CMANO over AAA and you'll see losses.

Yea true they will get a lot of bursts off, and i did lose one a/c to AAA in the english jets over uganda scenario. Different guns to KS-19s but same 4% PoH.

Just finished the book. Best book on the Iran-Iraq War. Operation MORVARID was especially interesting with its missile boat and air battle being a great small scenario possibility.

I'm about 1/4th through it and it looks like there are several scenario opportunities.

Gents ,

You might find this of interest, I know its from the Iraqi Side only , but I found it very interesting none the less. Theres not a lot of information on the Iran-Iraq War other than the general information.

I am finding this one tough too. Can't seem to find the firepower to take out the Iranian air defense after their CAP is defeated. Any tips? Trying again. Edit: so it looks like the AS-9 ARMs mentioned in the briefing are available to the SUs but outside the time limit of the scenario. Was an updated scenario posted - or I could edit myself. I obtained a minor without them, but it was a very bloody.
