Much more on the Store page... http://store.steampowered.com/app/226840/ Patrick I've got the game and played it. Game has story driven campaigns as well as randomly generated maps for Civilization-like diplomacy & conquest. Actually game has been accused of being Civ5 clone and never mind about the fact that series has been like that since first game in 1999. In any case, many features from Civ-series are at present, including tech research, trade, diplomacy, but city management is relatively simple (game makes it up with features not in Civs). When opposing forces meet, tactical battle ensues on hex-shape map. In tactical battle many units can do various attacks (not just 1 of a kind), cavalry units can charge, enemy can do opportunity attacks on your turn, and flanking attacks are available. In addition hero units gain experience, skills, items, magic spells, and mounts. So for example hero could be equipped with armor, musket, unicorn, spells, skills (like units led by hero can scale up walls of fort/city) and then some. On strategic map up to 5 units stack up (if I recall # correctly). When combat happens, all nearby stacks participate in battle. That means player can surround fort before attacking it. When fort is attacked, fort & unit stack on it are in the middle of the tactical map and all surrounding unit stacks (of all sides) are outside of the fort. Much of this description can fit on in any game in the series (I've played demos and watched vids). AoW3 is just more refined & polished with 3d terrain & unit models instead sprites. A very good game.
