Well, there goes any hope of an allied amphibious invasion of Madagascar this turn. Well not all hope but most.

Turn 39. Jan/Feb 1946. Axis #5. Japan.

Japan takes a land and makes less than a handful of moves. Moves instead to free up space to deploy the three units shattered by the ChiComm in their attack on Canton last impulse.

Not really having any moves to make Japan passes in the hopes of ending this turn. But this turn continues.

Turn 39. Jan/Feb 1946. Allied #13. ChiComm. Land Combat 1.

It didn't occur to me how dangerous this combat was for the ChiComm until I "rolled" the dice. A modified roll of 14 would have meant the loss of three attackers and, hence, Mao. That would have required an unmodified roll of 9, which meant that this attack had a 8% chance of seeing Mao eliminated. No the type of attack I would repeat again.

Turn 39. Jan/Feb 1946. Allied #13. CW. Land Combat 1.

While this amphibious landing had a 90% chance of success, there was a 10% chance that all three attacking units would be eliminated. But unlike the ChiComm land combat, a countries only HQ unit wasn't at risk. So, the risk in the eyes of the CW war planners was acceptable.

Turn 39. Jan/Feb 1946. End of Turn. Japan, Use Oil.

The only oil Japan has access to is the 1 oil from its Synth oil plant. The majority of stockpiled Japanese oil is only accessible through the South China Sea.

12.5% chance of failure, actually. To get only a 10% chance of failure would have needed one more combat point.

I am curious why you destroyed the irreplaceable and unique amphibious tank unit, rather than the Ethiopian TERR. The TERR is also unique, but not very good.

It was a Blitz attack and there were no other units that could have been taken as the first loss.
