Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #9. Italy. Naval Action.

The Italians take a naval and move the remaining surface strength they have organized in port, which are 3 CPs, into the Italian coast and the Eastern Med. The CW elects to intercept and successfully intercepts 2 of the 3 CPs moving into the Italian coast. Each CP was moved individually. The 2 that were successfully intercepted remain in the Italian coast. The one that wasn't is moved to the Eastern Med.

Of course, the Italians decline to initiate combat in the Eastern Med, but the CW choose too.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #9. Germany. U-boats. North Atlantic.

Germany takes a combine and moves two u-boat units based in Lorraine to the North Atlantic in hopes of crippling CW convoy routes. The Germans choose to initiate combat and the axis commit their four submarine units. The search result is a reversal of the searches in this area previously this turn. The RN finds and surprises the axis sub units.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #9. Germany. U-boats. North Atlantic. Round 1.

The RN forces a surface naval battle and uses all their surprise points to increase their combat column against the axis subs. The result is that an RN heavy cruiser is sunk but so is a German u-boat unit. Mostly importantly, the remaining 3 axis sub units are all forced to abort. This clears the North Atlantic of all axis sub units. Finally a win for the RN in the Battle of the Atlantic.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Allied #11. CW. Asmara, Eritera.

With the Italian unit still organized and raining in the mountains, the odds that the CW can get is an horrendous +1A. No attack this impulse.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Allied #11. USSR. Blue Factory at Krusk Railed to Ufa.

Another Soviet blue factory railed out of harms way. If it hadn't been for the poor weather this turn I doubt that the Soviets would have been able to get all the blue factories out that they did.

classic World in Flames experience - Germany rolls a double move from August into September 1941 - and the Steppes turn into quicksand. The dice, the dice take.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #13. Weather.

Storms remain in the North Temperate but at least in the Arctic storms turn to snow.

Actions.

Germany and Japan take a land. Italy passes. There's a 70% chance that the turn will end on this impulse. Regardless, this is with a high probability the last axis impulse of the turn so the Germans plan to be more aggressive on the Eastern Front especially given that the weather has improved there to snow.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #13. Japan. Northern China.

Before turning to the Eastern Front we go first go to Asia. The Japanese use the land to readjust their lines in the north and to prepare Yamamoto and a 6-3 IJN marine corps for redeployment out of China. Soon to follow is the 4-4 IJN marine corps still on the front lines in the north.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #13. Germany. The Eastern Front. Ground Strikes.

Germany uses the four air missions of their land action for three ground strikes. All three are ineffective. No Soviet units were disorganized.

Turn 13. Sep/Oct 1941. Axis #13. Germany. The Eastern Front. Land Combat.

Germany makes three land combat attacks. The first two are Blitz's and go exceptionally well. The last, which is an all out assault to take the surrounded city of Vitebsk produces the dreaded 14 (modified roll).
