Note the 1-3 IJN marine division loaded on an SCS in the Bismarck Sea. This division was pulled from Guam and will be deployed to Manila to replace the division lost there last impulse.

The complete conquest of Italy and Operation Overlord have been established as the top two priorities for the Western Allies in the ETO. Well, the total conquest of Italy requires the capture of Italian Somaliland and Albania (Eritrea is already CW controlled). So these two allied priorities extend to East Africa and to the Med. The conquest of Somaliland will be a CW ground operation supported by the RN and possibly the USN, Pacific Fleet. Though, this last support if far from certain.

If this turn continues for the allies and they get a break with the weather then the allies have the amphibious task force in place off the Italian Coast to attempt a capture of Albania.

Currently, the Western Allies have only three land units allocated to Operation Overlord. They had no amphibious units and too few air units.

The CW and USA used their navals to move more ground and air units to England for Overlord and to start the transfer of 7 amph units from the Med to England.

A massive lift of CW and USA ground and air units from USA and Canadian East Coast began this turn. Most, if not all, of these ground and air units are headed to England for Operation Overlord.

The expected date for Overlord is in 2 turns (May/June), however, the hopeful date is 1 turn (Mar/Apr).

The USN attempts to initiate a naval combat in the South China Sea, however, it's the IJN that find and surprise the USN. Instead of using their surprise points to avoid combat, Japan gets aggressive and decides to fight and isolate Nimitz's and his transport in box 4. The problem is that the USN has 6 large aircraft carriers in the 4 box with Nimitz. In hindsight, a mistake by the IJN player to do this.
