Hey there, for those who remember me I became mother three years ago. Under these conditions I neither had the mood nor time to play this game. So hello again and I hope you are still all here and well :)

So uhm the help.
I would love to start a campaign (Rise of the Dorniers?) with that nasty Andy Mac Allied AI scenario.
But with all of these official and inofficial patches I am a bit lost and I am not sure what to install and in which order.
So thanks in advance.

Welcome back, werte Gräfin! Und herzlichen Glückwunsch!

Most of us (sure of it) have 2 installs; The regular vanilla and the latest un-official patch courtesy of hard-working Michael and another install with the DaBabes extended map, etc. and Michael's patch.

I wish I could oblige to thy request about a campaign, alas I am occupied with something else. Please do share your thoughts on a Tutorial AAR I have started for our fellow German WitP AE community.

Agreed. Patch the Vanilla. Then go get the "unofficial" update in the Tech Support forum from Micheal.

Warspite...everytime I see you name I'm reminded of my current PBEM just started where about all my BBs were sunk at PH and all I have left is Warspite and Colorado for the foreseeable future. Trying times.

Hey Grafin! Good to see you around and congrats on the family!

DBB is certainly worth the effort of setting it all up. I haven't tried the newest of the patches, but previously the fixes were solid and useful. Just back in myself and I'm curious to have a go with the new ones.

Good luck with your game.

Shouldn't be an issue, because you shouldn't really be using them anyway. Too easy to lose them. Just look at it as getting the sunk BBs out of the way right at the start .

GZ;

Welcome back!

Be careful, several of the zealous forumites are steering you wrong. Ironman series doesn't work with DBB, so don't go there.

Andy's Ironman, Ironman Nasty, and Nasty Nasty are based upon vanilla install with no map changes.

So, get your install. "Officially" patch up. Then get Michaels latest patch. Then download Andy's Ironman(s).

Try the Nasty on normal first to get your feet wet again. Yes, the Dorniers are as fiendish as you recall. Once you're back in the grove again, go ahead. Challenge yourself. NAsty, NAsty is like twins after they've eaten ice cream AND cake AND chocolate! As the IJ playing against the Allied AI, prepare to be embarrassed.

PS: Congrats on your children! Trust all are hale and happy.

Portholes???! On a WWII warship! There is always someone who didn't get the memo.
Judging by the timbers in the water the picture is just after launching.

Welcome back Ms. Admiral GZ! When you disappeared I was worried it was something I said (typed).

Don't worry about it. You have HMS Warspite don't you? and the good folks at Bremerton are working their magic right? Don't over think the situation, you are making things too complicated for yourself. The game plan is really quite simple.

As soon as she completes her repair work, just send the Grand Old Lady to Truk, destroy all enemy shipping there, then sail on to Tokyo Bay, wipe out all Imperial Japanese Navy forces en route, shell the Imperial Palace, wipe out Hirohito (and you can take out Tojo et al too), then proceed in a southwesterly direction to Singapore/Malaya, NEI, The Philippines and Burma and liberate the lot with your 15-inchers.

Having won the war, she'll be back home in blighty for tea and medals in by April 1943. Simples.

And while you're at it don't forget to stop off at Fantasy Island (dee plane boss, dee plane).

Now for the real reason for opening this post. Welcome back GZ. If you have no idea whom I might be its because I was a long time lurker and probably not posted before you left, but I had read many of your posts. Wondered where you'd gone. Now we know. Congrats on the little one and enjoy the little tyke while he's (she's?) young. Me I got it easy, I'm about to become a grandfather. Now I can send 'em home when I've had enough.

Congrats! As a recentish dad (5 years is recent right?) I empathize with your barriers to participate in this particular hobby. :D

PS. Thanks for this thread! I was looking for the same information and finding it hard to come by.

Ugh. Think about all of those precious KB pilots your opponent had to give up to do that and maybe you'll feel a little better.
