Hey Seagles, I thought of getting counseling but the doc wouldn't take scenarios for payment. Some people...

This one was supposed to be easy yet I lost the first three attempts...


Paratroopers Hit Back

Sadzot, Belgium, December 31, 1944: The German offensive in the Ardennes
was at its climax; everywhere the Germans were trying to achieve a break-
out. On the northern shoulder of the bulge, the 2nd SS Division was driving
towards the much-valued Erezee-Manthey road. When two SS battalions hit Sadzot
in the middle of the night they completely destroyed the mortar company
stationed there. Major Tomask, the commander of the 509th, heard the fighting
and against orders sent two of his companies to retake Sadzot.

Game Length: 8 turns

For the Americans to win they must capture 5 of the 10 buildings
For the Germans to win they must defend the town of Sadzot against the paratroopers

Americans: squads, MMG's, BAZ44's, AFV's
Germans: Squads, MMG, LMG's, PSK's

Boards: #17

Aftermath: The Germans, after facing stiff opposition from the mortarmen, were
in no mood to establish proper defensive positions. They spent most of their time
looting the village and getting warm. When the paratroopers showed up with tanks
there was a fierce but short-lived defense.

Hell's Fury at Muencheberg

Muencheberg, Germany, Thursday, April 19, 1945: Zhukov's 1st Belorussian Front
had finally broken through the German defenses on the Seelow Heights and began
to find the 56th Panzer Corps barring the way.

Game Length: 9 turns

For the Russians to win they must capture Muencheberg's large buildings
For the Germans to win they must hold the town of Muencheberg

Russians: Squads, MMG, LMG's, DC's, FT, AFV's
Germans: squads, MMG, LMG's, PSK's, AT Gun, AFV's

Boards: #3, #5, #10

Aftermath: The German's valiant effort was futile as the Russian attack finally
enveloped and crushed the defenders.

Here's a Merry Christmas to everyone on my damn naughty list #1...

I Once Had a Comrade

South of Karhov, December 2, 1942: Stalingrad was surrounded. General Paulus'
6th Army was slowly withering under both Zukov's armies and the Russian winter.
The Vikings were to take part in von Manstein's relief drive. During the rail
trip, the Norland Regiment's train was stopped and attacked by a band of partisans.

Game Length: 7 turns

For the Partisans to win they must ambush the relief train and escape to the southwest
For the Germans to win they must neutralize as many partisans as possible before they escape

Partisans: Squads, MMG, LMG's
Germans: Squads, MMG, LMG's, FT's

Boards: #5

Aftermath: Being jolted awake, the SS came under intensive fire. Overcoming their initial
shock they were quick to break up the partisan attack. Although many of the partisans made
good their escape, others were not so fortunate.

Search and Destroy

Russia, April 12, 1944: The Wosuszka River was one of the numerous obstacles
met by the 9th SS Panzer Division in its attempt to reach Tarnopol. The Engineers
of the Division were prevented from establishing a bridge over the river by gun-
shots emanating from a T-34 dug on top of Hill 367. An Assault group was instructed
to eliminate this threat.

Game Length: 5.5 turns

For the Germans to win they must destroy both the bunker and the tank
For the Russians to win they must defend Hill 367

Germans: Half-Squads, LMG's, DC, FT's
Russians: Squads, MMG, AFV

Boards: #2

Aftermath: At the moment the men of the assault group reached their goal, they were
surprised by the presence of a bunker that repulsed them. However, a second assault
was more successful, destroying both the dug-in tank and the bunker.

Stand at Shestakov

Near Stalingrad, Thursday, December 17, 1942: The 57 Panzer Corps' attempt
to relieve Stalingrad had reached the river Aksay, only 45 miles away from the
besieged 6th Army. The 23rd Panzer Division, severely weakened by the intense
fighting, had managed to seize several bridgeheads on the Askay at Kruglyakov
and Shestakov. At this point, the Soviets launched a series of strong attacks
aimed at destroying the bridgeheads, one which came at Shestakov, held only by
an engineer battalion.

Game Length: 6.5 turns

For the Russians to win they must capture the bridgehead at Shestakov
For the Germans to win they must keep the bridgehead open

Russians: Squads, MMG's, LMG's, MTR, AFV's

Ray and John, you guys are very welcome. I know Rico, UP844, and Seagles are out there and hopefully
are enjoying at least some of the Christmas cheer from the TotH Forum.

All TotH fans are a hardcore loyal bunch sticking with a game after 40 plus years. Thanks Peter!

The Drive Into Poland

Sandomierz, August 14, 1944: While the Germans were counterattacking a
Soviet bridgehead to the south, the Soviets launched an attack to the
north in the area of Sandomierz.

Game Length: 8 Turns

For the Russians to win they must capture the town of Sandomierz
For the Germans to win they must hold the bridgehead

Russians: Squads, MMG, LMG's, AFV's
Germans: Squads, MMG, LMG's, PSK's, INF Gun, AFV's

Boards: #7, #10

Aftermath: By August 18th the Russians had liberated the town of Sandomierz
and surrounded two German divisions to the north of the town. The Soviets
continued to beat back German counterattacks and expand the bridgehead until
by the end of August it was about 47 miles wide and 30 miles deep.

There are so many scenarios from the community, is there a way to download them all? I downloaded the first bundles on the first page and then grabbed a few CG and 2 RB scenario conversions, but some seemed duplicated from the bundles so I figured someone was updating the bundles. I have about 764 (IIRC) total, a couple of them say tests or something.

Paratroopers in Oil

Stavromenos, Crete, May 25, 1941: Although the British positions in
Crete was eroding there were still areas where they were enjoying
local successes. One such place was the area around Rethimnon where
the Germans were actually on the defensive. Several days earlier, a
group of paratroopers had taken cover in an olive oil factory. Now,
with the help of a tank and three artillery pieces, Colonel Campbell
was determined to take that factory.

Game Length: 7.5 turns

For the British to win they must capture the factory
For the Germans to win they must prevent the British from taking the factory

Here's another one...


Galatas

Galatas, Crete, May 25, 1941: The 23rd New Zealand Battalion had just been
thrown out of the small village of Galatas. Two tanks made a quick recon
and were then ordered to lead a counterattack. As the light faded, screams
for vengeance rose from the New Zealanders' column. The German 100th Mountain
Regiment troops will feel their wrath.

Game Length: 7.5 turns

For the New Zealanders to win they must recapture the entire town of Galatas
For the Germans to win they must prevent the New Zealanders from taking the town again

New Zealanders: Squads, MMG, LMG's, DC's, AFV's
Germans: Squads, MMG, LMG's, DC, ATR's, MTR

Boards: #15, #17

Aftermath: The Germans thought that the day's fighting was over when the tanks
withdrew and were surprised when the New Zealanders tore into them. In vicious
house-to-house fighting, the Germans were destroyed. As darkness fell, Galatas
was once again in British hands.

Sicily, July 11, 1943: The 82nd Airborne had parachuted into Sicily with
one major objective - to prevent the Germans from attacking the beachheads
until the bulk of the 1st and 45th Infantry Divisions were ashore.

Game length: 6 turns

For the Americans to win they must defend the high ground
For the Germans to win they must take the hill

Americans: Squads, MMG's, BAZ43's, MTR, ART Gun
Germans: Squads, HMG, MMG, LMG's, MTR's, AFV's

Boards: #2, #4

Aftermath: The Germans attack, accompanied by hail or mortar fire, almost
succeeded in pushing the paratroopers off the ridge. Fighting from reverse
crest positions the paratroopers put up a determined defense and even succeeded
in disabling several Tiger tanks with bazookas by firing at the exposed under-
carriage of the tank as it came over the crest of the hill. The German attack
then began to falter and was finally halted by the timely arrival of naval
gunfire coupled with the arrival of elements of the 45th Division. An ensuing
counterattack led by Colonel Gavin overran the forward German positions forcing
the Panzergrenadiers to retire and thus ending the threat to the beachhead.

No front story; no back story.

Game Length: 6 turns

For the Germans to win they must exit two JagPanzer Tigers off the North edge
For the Russians, to win they must prevent the Tigers from exiting

Germans: Squads, MMG, LMG's, AFV's
Russians: Squads, HMG, MMG, LMG, DC, FT's, AA Gun, AT Guns

Hi Hailstone,

Just an observation on my part regarding your scenario Tiger Hunt. I was reviewing it in the editor and noticed a slight error.
I'm sorry to say that JgPz V tank destroyers were not available at Kursk circa July 1943. However Elefants Panzerjager Tiger (P) were. Maybe that was your intention.

The JgPz V (Hunting Panther) began production in mid autumn to late 1943, but the first vehicles were not seen on the field until mid to late spring 1944.

Thought you should know my friend.

BTW, the scenario looks awesome and thank you!!!

Hmmm, Yeah John, you are right with your historical facts. I should have used the Panzerjager Tiger as
was listed in the scenario. The wrong AFV was selected inadvertently. Good catch and I will correct it. Thanks.
