Skimmed through the release notes but couldn't find anything - I'm wondering what the little icon attached to an airfield means?

Excellent update by the way.

regards

Also lost where I saw this, thanks.
I thought though that the units spotted would be for enemy and not your own though? I tried the ship operations tutorial and my ship had an observation yellow and black triangle? Is this because the neutral P-3 spotted me?

On the map, friendly facilities that host units AND contacts on which hosted units have been spotted are displayed with a “black triangle on yellow box” symbol. This allows at-a-glance awareness of which friendly assets (and contacts) host units:

Mmm, there is a slight glitch with this cool new addition.

It works, shows triangles but only on allied, known, your own airbases/ side.

Even when I reckoned, flew right over enemy airbase with a (camera) recon loadout plane, it didnt work , show triangle on that base, but after I've hit an airbase with bombs, there was lot of "airplane destroyed" logs, so there were planes after all.

Thanks

Could be a number of reasons. Cloud cover, aircraft in hangar, etc etc. This is a complex simulator.

Oh and you posted a bug report without a savegame, which means you owe us a beer

Exactly. As I've noticed the game tends to place a/c in hardened shelters first before moving on to open parking or revetments. Could be the a/c were in shelters or hangars and hence not visible to the recon pass.

Is it possible to create a trigger if an observation is made? Not near it at the moment so can't check. Just a quick question :)

Hmm... yes&no :), it seems that you're right, it works ok., but now it got detected even in hangar.

Previous scen which I reported was in 1995. era, central europe, so it could be recon sensors, but could be also, ah those darn single-unit airfields hangars.

Anyways.. checked ok, but :) , you'll see the end of the log threw out some non-sense, see sensor lines:

2) Assets under cover are not completely safe from observation either: If an aircraft enters or exits an enclosed air facility (e.g. a fighter that has just landed is entering a hangar to re-ready) *while a unit is observing this facility*, the aircraft is also spotted (the same holds for e.g. a submarine entering an underground base). This means that “persistent” recon/intel assets (anything from a SOF team parked outside the base, to a stealthy RQ-170/180 loitering overhead or even a satellite perched far up in HEO/GEO orbit) are essential for keeping track of under-roof traffic and inventory.

Thanks, fixed for v1.11 RC2.

Wow, this is fantastic. I have not downloaded the update yet, and just able to start checking it out. Will unfortunately be a few more days before I can. In the meantime I have a couple quick questions:

Does the angle of visual contact make a difference? For instance, the generic weather shelters, there is a good chance that an overhead sensor especially at high altitude would not pick up if anything is underneath - but a low oblique or a ground sensor should have a good chance.

Are you considering 'dummy' aircraft to deceive sensors?

Is this just for visual or are thermal and other sensors incorporated (to help defeat decoys etc)

Do Camouflaged parking spots simply defeat visual or do they also attenuate thermal and other signatures?

Thanks a bunch guys this is a fantastic addition.

B

...not sure I understand symbols (yellow box w/black triangle in it).
In my game (Uncle Marks Tut 1), shown on a naval task group. What does it represent?

cheers
