I'm sure someone has posted a short tutorial somewhere on how to setup an automatic convoy system to supply distant bases and ports, but for the life of me I cannot find it.

Anyone have a link?

Thank you in advance.

This is a commonly asked question on these boards by newcomers (such as myself).

The first and best advice is the read the manual on this section to differentiate between

1) Computer controlled convoys
2) The auto convey system (a dashboard interface) to establish convoys based out of San Francisco and Ceylon
3) The advice above which is sound - don't; you leave your force open to submarine / surface / aircraft attacks un-escorted. Out of mind out of sight.

*experienced gamers on this sight taught me to use it lightly. i.e. Single unit moving resources from Hilo to Pearl, fuel or supply from Seattle to Victoria, etc

The short(er) answer is read all the lines in the convoy data - under mission type you can toggle between Human Controlled and Computer Controlled.

have the convoy at the starting port of your Convoy, select the destination, load the type of cargo you want to carry, then click on computer controll. Instead of Computer controlled it should now read CS:Destination port.

There are two completely differ things being discussed here and blended together.

The Auto Convoy system is completely different form Continuous Supply Task Forces.

In the Auto Convoy system you allocate ships to the system and turn on a toggle at the bases you want it to service.
The AI then creates TFs to supply those bases. Most experienced players don't use it as they feel they can better use those shipping resources more efficiently themselves.

Continuous Supply TFs I do use in abundance and highly recommend. In this case simply create a supply TF and then toggle it from Player Control to Computer Control to Continuous Supply.
You can set threat tolerances and waypoints for both trips there and back. These work great. It will run forever until you change it or it gets sunk.
