HA! HA! As someone who paints and finishes..... that was one of the first things I was looking for in the first photo.

Re: the aircraft type, try this Google search - lots of aircraft with yellow wings.
My current guess is the PT-19 Cornell monoplane.

Curtiss-Wright AT-9?

Curtiss-Wright AT-9 looks metal.. smooth.

I though a biplane at first because of the fabric and the ribs are so prominent.

PT-19 Cornell monoplane is close but I dont see the framing as much.

Could it be the wing of a disassembled biplane?

If that's the top wing of a biplane that sink in the background is WAY up off the floor

Yes its the top of the bi-plane. The USAAF used Giantesses to paint their aircraft. The whole sink/floor thing is an optical illusion.

Notice they didn't use spray paint either. The brush she has in her hand was used for the entire aircraft. FACT.

Library of Congress had info on pic.

Even if laying on the floor, the top wing of a biplane is still the top wing of a biplane, maybe.

her title was:

"A&R McElroy I.L."

"A & R " is for "Assembly & Repair"

The Wiki on it says it's fabric. The wings, that is.

Girl in the middle is going to be a supermodel I think.

Although most Circassians today are Sunni, those crosses on the ladies' clothes look like Chaldean crosses.
