Not as much progress as I would have liked this weekend on post 108. I have realised I have not mentioned the first destroyer engagement so have started a new post 96. This still needs quite a bit of work at the sources available to me are not always helpful......

Hussah! They've finally announced a revised date for this debate. 2nd February. So got my ticket - hopefully will give me the impetus to finish this off.

Well that was an unexpected bonus - quite a few HMS Warspite artefacts

Okay I have moved this on as one of the things I did get from the debate was an interesting view re John Travers Cornwall's VC.

I also appeal to anyone who may know of any information on German heroics and medals bestowed. Thank-you.

Draft incomplete

Heroes of the battle

Victoria Cross

Commander the Hon. Edward Bingham Royal Navy (HMS Nestor)
+ other destroyer commanders honoured

Major Francis Harvey Royal Marines Light Infantry (HMS Lion)

Commander Loftus Jones Royal Navy (HMS Shark)

Boy, First Class John Cornwell (HMS Chester)

Does anyone know any stories of heroics on the German side please?

- mention picking up survivors from V.29

May I interrupt this to very highly recommend 'Jutland 1916: The Archaeology of a Naval Battlefield' by Innes McCartney?
Underwater surveys have much to tell about what happened that fateful day.
