Discovered a really cool custom scenario for ARMA 3 that I've rapidly become addicted to. Called Antistasi Altis. It's basically a dynamically generated guerrilla campaign using one of the largest maps in the game. You start with nothing but a crate of random weapons and enough resources to recruit a handful of soldiers and a truck. You have a staff officer guy who will generate missions for you to do, or you can go do your own thing. Stealing cargo trucks, assassinating officers, sabotaging infrastructure, ambushing convoys, it's all there. There are outposts, factories, power plants, resources, bases, and airports that you can take control of from the government forces once you get stronger. You also need to win over the support of each town, as that gives you more manpower and money to work with. You can also gain support from NATO for airstrikes and such. You have to be careful not to kill civilians as that will reduce NATO support. It's really a fantastic scenario, taking what has been done as a lengthy campaign before and turning it into one big seamless scenario. You could, for example, raid an enemy outpost which will trigger a reaction force to counter-attack from the nearby larger base. Then you could ambush that reaction force with some mines planted ahead of time, knocking out a few vehicles and fading into the forest before enemy air support shows up. All of this happening in real time.
