Status: offline 		One hot summer night in 1964 I listened to the first Cassius Clay Sonny Liston fight on the radio of a 1962 Studebaker Lark. I had never heard of him before but before long (with help from Howard Cossell), I learned he was the gold medal winner of the 1960 Olympics and the media tore him up for being as "outspoken" as he was.
Later that year he changed his name to Mohammad Ali and became a controversial figure for the next decade.
Mr Ali showed his strength in and out of the ring and was truly an ambassador for this nation.
