Really enjoying the discussion around options for events.

It reminded me of the old Days of Decision for World in Flames. Not the crazy end products DoD2 and DoD3 just the fairly quick to play prewar of DoD1. It would be great to see some type of variable prestart to give the game longer legs.

Exactly where I was going Yohan, something along the lines of DoD.

I'm wondering, how far back should we go?

1934 or '36 are usually good places as any for setting up some alternate strategies without changing the core elements of the game too much....

Agreed, that is when Germany can change its navy strategy - Battleships, Carriers, or U-Boats.

Japan's strategy in China was established during this period - what if they were content with keeping Korea and Northern China. Most likely, no oil embargo and no attack on Pearl Harbor. Japan would have the resources to attack Russia in Siberia. The United States would have entered the war againt Germany later, in 1942 or 1943.

If would be helpful if Hubert could add a pre-game phase with functionality for decision event only turns - no production, no unit movement, no research. Just decision event turns that impact starting diplomacy settings, available units, territory. The pregame phase might be defined as 1 to 5 turns. Turn 1: Axis Decisions, Allied Decisions, Turn 2: Axis Decisions, Allied Decisions, Turn 3: Axis Decisions, Allied Decisions, etc.

PS: And Add Diplomacy Chip Scripts as suggested by James Taylor. (i.e. Receive Diplomacy chit that player apply to a selected country)

Pregame Phase (Decision Only Events, no production, no movement, no research ) > Game Phase (Normal Game).

If they're to add a Pre-Game phase tbh I'd rather have it later on in DLC format (or exp-pack) that I can pay for; but done in an appropriate way.

Agreed, with new decision events, AI that respond to the pre-game results and new script condition for AI (reactive AI) and Events (Diplomacy Chits).

Well of course! Since this is probably it for SC editions, we want this one to have long legs in the DLC possibilities. Hubert and Bill must eat.
