For those waiting for Vietnam.

Would there be any interest in a hypothetical ground invasion north across the DMZ?

Or should I stick to historical scenario design?

if your talking either, or, i vote historical. If times allows i'm always up for some hypothetical action but not at the expense of historical.

As long as the historical are not sacrificed, Hypothetical scenarios are great, maybe even a US China Scenario in the north.

There will be some Vietnam vs China from the 1979 border clashes, but I'll save the USA vs China for future VN updates.

I won't be sacrificing any historical scenarios, of course. I just have a large DMZ map created and was curious if it would be good to use for something outside of the box.

Scenario development in order of priority:

1. Historical scenarios in South Vietnam & Cambodia/Laos (US)
2. Historical scenarios in Vietnam (French)
3. China vs Vietnam historical scenarios
4. Hypothetical scenarios (US & French)

I've always loved how CS lends itself to both historical and hypothetical scenarios. A hypothetical invasion north would be great. Also don't forget about Dienbienphu and how it could be the subject of a great linked campaign. Last but not least, Alan Arvold's great ACAV scenarios from DGVN could be included, with his approval of course.

I usually vote for historic but in this case I would love a hypothetical. There are so few games (Next to none) that explore this period of history and given the fact that politics lost the war and not the US soldier it would be very interesting to see what would have happened if the politicians allowed the gloves to come off. Are you still looking at a late 2017 release along with a new East front?

Very late 2017 or early 2018.

That's the plan, but as we all know, plans change.

We're working every day on both though!
