Anthropoid, please make sure you don't overlook my post from a few back. Just wanted to let you know it was there before it got buried.

ETA: Strongly recommend you look at Ki-44a to Ki44b to Ki-44c research plan for IJAAF fighter production. This way you can have Ki-44c aircraft in production in late 1942. These will serve the Empire well for at least a year and a half.

Yep! I saw it! Thanks!

I read everything in this thread pretty closely, and go back and re-read much of it as I'm in game fiddling.

Dont listen to Chickenboy. Every Japanese player knows that the Ki-46 Dinah IIIB is the only plane you need.

Aye. It slices, it dices and looks good in a little black dress too. Furthermore, it's BOTH a floor wax and a dessert topping.

I agree, but IMHO its better to specify than to assume my opponent is like minded. Lest we get too far into a game before we realize we aren't 'game compatible'.

simple question i guess but how does the upgrade button in the industry screen work?
i have realistic RnD and PDU "on" if that matters at all for that.
what does it do for engines?
if i leave all "on" when do the factories ugrade?
what happens to RnD factories if i turn all upgrades "off"?

Upgrade doesn't matter for engines. Realistic R&D does not affect what this setting does either.

The Upgrade column/button only affects production factories for Japan. It means that when a new airframe becomes available, the factories will upgrade. For example, when the A6M3 is able to be produced, any A6M2 factories set to Upgrade will change from A6M2 to A6M3.
