Congrats on seeing 1942. I just can't seem to get in the multiple turns with work, family, and play. I imagine with football on the horizon, you'll soon be losing a couple of hours a week on your NY Giants <grin>.

I've always liked Cutler and I'm really interested in seeing how he does in Miami with a coach and team that seem to have his back. And for my Bears I think their D will do a good job of keeping things close. I'm not sure the O-line will do well with punching holes for the run game and our receiving core looks suspect unless Kevin White starts playing as advertised. I'm not too sure about Glennon either - I hope he surprises me with good play but I still bare a hefty dose of skepticism in regards to his play. And Trubisky I think, still needs some time to really learn how to read defenses. Some of that he can do by holding a clip-board but my WAG is that he'll be starting somewhere around game 6. I'm curious to see what happens today after all of the cuts - they'll cut what -about a thousand players today? It's gunna be a crazy game of musical chairs for the next couple of days.

Hey - wazza transfer range? Of my HQ (2xradius)? Cuz I've got a few bases within 8 hexes that are over 20k...

I must admit this is a crazy mod. I'd really like to try the new version Bruce is playing w/Brown as the allied fighters are toned down at the start of the game. It's taken me about 6 months just to get my fighter/bomber production into condition to actually fight an air war in Russia. His MiGs are a royal pain - but I'd rather deal with them than those gosh-darned P50 fighters he used on me during the early PI campaign. I think he slaughter about 150 of my Zeroes with my best pilots and I maybe shot down 25 or so of his fighters... That sucked.

Japanese Ships
CB Admiral Lutzow, Bomb hits 8, heavy fires, heavy damage

So he finally kills mt Admiral Lutzow... He smacked her early in the game - pretty much hunted her down from what I could see. And since he made the mod and there were few options for me to try and sneak her across to my waters... Anyway - I've been hiding her between bases along the west coast of Malaya - kinda like that three-cups-and-a-ball game... Bruce guessed right again. He likes to scuttle his ships when they get in a tight spot. I don't do that stuff. He finally got her so he outta get the points :-)

Transfer range is for each air group. You need to increase supply required at Bangkok by 2k or 3k.

My Giants will need relatively good health on defense. If so they will be better than last year. The big question is the OL again. They will go only as far as the OL takes them.

Morning Air attack on Vladivostok , at 112,46
**** Russia is the air-battle from hell for me. Bruce kind of has me between a rock an a hard place. MiGs in Russia and P-38E air groups in Burma. He has a lot of both. They swat my Oscars & Zeroes down while taking few losses. Right now my production lines are churning out about 50 fighters a turn and I'm losing more than I make... What I hate about sweeps is that it seems like at the beginning of the combat phase I throw several small AG of fighters up against his CAP when it's at full strength. Later in the turn I often see sveral fighter groups join together to punch through the enemy CAP but by then then there are few CAP left. I can never seem to deliver the heavy blow at the beginning of the turn when it's most needed. Frustrating... I know folks talk about problems with timing for getting FG to do a coordinated attack but when the enemy base is at max 5 hexes away and the normal range w/drop tanks is 9 or better, you'd think they could all agree to try and show up over a known land mark and then do a joint attack when their fuel level reaches fifty percent...

Japanese Unit(s) surrounded at Chengchow
**** This sux... I haven't been able to keep air superiority in China due to the Malya/Burma/IndoChina front and the Russian front.

Oh - you made it all the way down here??? :-)

So here's a pic comparing the Zero to the Lightening. All weapons on the P-38E are centre mounted so they have improved accuracy aaaaaand the twin-engined fighter has armor... I could really-really use some of my future up-gunned and armored fighters. In this mod I'm always gunna be a day late and a buck short when it comes to air frames.

So just a general update for the 11th.

Bruce took Marcus. Things that make me go hmmm.

Russia - more of the same in the battle for air supremacy. The Russian CAP always seems to start out with 70-100 MiGs...

Lots ob bombers coming out of Singapore... He is really pounding Kuala Lumpur. He's done this off and on but lately he's been more aggressive in Malaya since Bruce got the Admiral...

Many-many P-38E sweeps in Thailand and near Hanoi. Bruce has been pushing me back and is gathering around Moulmein. I'm gunna start pulling back to a better defense-able line in both Malaya and Burma. I'm gunna pull back to Thailand. At the beginning of May I started pilling all units of the 21st Army to Saigon for transport to Hong Kong to make a push in China/Indochina. I wonder if Bruce saw this in his intel?

Hmmmmm.

And this get's me current.

The turn starts out with a bombardment of Moulmein but just with cruisers.

The P-38E thing is still in effect.

The air combat in the Russian Front is still waging heavily. I need more bombers to help close the airfields near Vladivostok... The problem is that I'm nearly out... Lack of air coordination - that is my problem...

In China he's going after Chusien, which is surrounded...

This seems a little strange as it's been very-very quite here.
