Here's the USMC for FPRS.
In the 80's, elements of the 2nd Marine Division were slated to reinforce AFNORTH (Northern Norway) with an Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) in the event of a conflict with the Soviets. Although a portion of their equipment was propositioned in Norway, it is possible that they could have deployed to Germany using equipment from maritime pre-positioning ships.
I've included a converted training scenario "USMC Tutorial Scenario.scn" and the huge "USMC HUNTING Bears.scn" which is a MEB vs an entire Soviet MR Division.
Enjoy.

Thanks for that maple. I quickly slapped together a movement to contact scenario on the NTC map.

Do the included combat engineer units come with any special abilities worth mentioning or are they basically an infantry unit with an engineer symbol?

Other than art, the basic engineering functions are in the game abstracted and not unit related abilities. We are looking to add some discreet elements in Southern Storm.

I equipped the Engineer units with the M202 FLASH flame weapon and a bunch of satchel charges to differentiate them from regular infantry. But as Capn Darwin says, there are no specialized engineering abilities in game.
Cheers!

I like this, will give it a spin today and post my results and will take a look at the OOB, being I was in the Marine Corps from 72 to 76 and the rest of my twenty years in the US Army.

Now if I can sweat talk someone to make a map of the Norwegian area that would be cool.

I don't know if you are still interested in this topic.

I am coming back after fulfilling a commitment to play WITPAE through to the end *just once*. It's a lovely game about training pilots for WW2 in the Pacific theatre. And it takes a really long time to win.

My comments are directed toward the designer notes attached to your .xls file.

Links change, so I have only included the names of documents you should be able to find for free.

The first item of interest (to me anyway) is that during the 80's the Marine rifle squad shrank to eleven men, and two rifle teams, starting around 1981-1982. This is briefly referenced online in U.S. Marines In Lebanon 1982-1984 by Benis M. Frank.

As the Frank work points out, the conversion was not complete in 1982. So if you are interested in the pre-existing structure, you want to look for FMFM 6-4 Marine Rifle Company/Platoon and FMFM 6-3 Marine Infantry Battalion. These date from 1978. I have not been able to find FMFM 6-2 on the Marine Infantry Regiment.

The USMC annual publication Concepts and Issues from the 1980's provide useful guidance on adoption of various systems. 1983, and 1984, point to specific changes in the number of weapons systems used by by the various TF structures that are mentioned by Frank.

When did the Marine rifle squad change back to 13 men? My best guess from evidence available to me online is that it was with MCWP 3-11.2 Marine Rifle Squad, the original of which was published in June 1988. The earliest version I have found online dates from November 2002, but it references the earlier publications without noticeable deprecations on squad size.

Those interested in developing scenarios for the USMC may be interested in The Reestablishment Of The Amphibious Marine Expeditionary Brigade And Its Implication For
The Aviation Combat Element
Maj. Carl L. Oros, for the historical information it provides on expeditionary brigades built around amphibious lift, airlift, and pre-positioning during the 1980's.

I have downloaded QGIS 3.2.3, and will be slogging through a map for the area around Bardufoss, Norway. Isn't that what everyone has been waiting for?
