The Panzers could have rolled right over the British Artillery on the break-through move, I think.

With all of the German fighters at the Western front, british bombers strike into the heart of Industrial Germany. Inflicting heavy losses on Essen.

Facing the might of the German Army in the north of France, british and french bombers launch low odds ground strikes, trying to stem the bleeding. But first they must get past German fighters.

I didn't think I could, but should have tried.

AXIS #6 MAY/JUN 1940

Those RAF ground strikes hurt the Germans. Progress has been slowed. But we note that Bilotte has reorganised units and so the French are now also less mobile.

An Italian battleship fleet enters the Western Med, and opts to sit under fighter cover in the 2 box. A small CW carrier fleet is in the 4 box. French ships are escorting allied convoys in the 0 box.

Axis 6 Allies 8 searches fail.

He115Cs raid Hull. Both sides are getting good strategic bombing rolls in general.

The Italians ground strike Georges' HQ. Nearby AAA fire makes no difference.

The SM79s miss the HQ but hit the other units. No organised French aircraft now remain.

Italian Alpini enter France over the high mountains and invade the Algerian coast between Oran and Algiers. (Notional or not makes no difference to invasion odds, +21).

The Allies choose blitz in a bid to save their artillery division but a German infantry corps takes Calais. Can the French close this gap on the far left of their line?

The Germans took a risk here, figuring they can afford losses and have two HQs ready to reorganise units.

It just about pays off, the French in the salient south west of Brussels are forced to retreat.

The weather remains clear. On the western front, von Rundstedt and von Leeb both reorganise land units.

End of impulse.

A disorganised Amiot 143 is destroyed by the advancing panzers in the Ardennes.

The Germans move and launch three attacks against Boulogne, Lille, and Billotte's HQ, being careful to not deploy armour or mech against the good French AT guns. French artillery to the south weigh in against elite German infantry supported by their own heavy guns.

Panzers overrun the poor militia thrust into the coastal strip by desperate French Generals. Surely this was a callous decision. We breakthrough to Rouen.

A roll of 15 is good against Billotte and his guns. Lost the screenshot sorry.

They are drinking champagne at OKH. There will be no shortage of it in Germany soon.
