Germans prevail in their third attack, with disorganised units that Guderian is able to refuel at the end of the impulse.

Allies 1st move of Sep/Oct 40 begins with the CW declaring war on Il Duce and his minions. The CW navy surges out from their ports to try and assert their dominance of the seas. The Italian convoy in the East Med is sent to the bottom. Their forces in the West Med however are only sent scurrying back to their ports.
Here is a shot of the East Med forces.

The Italians put a fleet out into the Western Med, and want some action against perfidious Albion.

Searches Axis 7 Allies 8, fail. Sub searches in Cape St Vincent also fail, 7 and 5.

The Allies decline to search.

The French Navy furious with the fall of Paris surge out into the Western Med. They search and find the Italian Fleet with blood in their eyes they unleash on the Italian Navy.
The final death toll is shown in the picture below. They also manage to put the Mighty Littorio in drydock with large amounts of damage. And the French also killed part of the Italian supply link with North Africa.
And the turn continues with less than perfect weather.

The Wolf Pack is more than happy with the results. No second combat round as both sides roll 4 and make no further contact. A production hit for the Britisher Island Monkeys. The aborted cp returns to Liverpool.

In France, rumors abound that Hitler's train was seen arriving in Paris, as the turn comes to an end.
A Commie Chinese partisan appears behind the Japanese lines raising havoc. And in America, after the debacle in Faroes Gap, Roosevelt pushes thru legislation giving Destroyers to the CW.

Nov/Dec 40 starts with the creation of Vichy France. The bad news for the Allies is not a single french territory goes free french, causing the complete conquering of France.
The Axis win initiative but choose to let the allies move first.

AXIS #3 NOV/DEC 1940

In the last Allied impulse, Germany allowed the Soviet claim on Bessarabia. The Soviets had been very quiet indeed until then, whilst shifting Zhukov's army from the Persian border to the fringe of Mitteleuropa.

But the Fuhrer does not wish to see his Romanian friends completely dismembered so refuses the Hungarian claim on South Dobruja and the Bulgarian claim on Transylvania. These pathetic peasants can fight us with their feeble units if they don't like that.

Japan aligns French Indo China. A roll of 6 gives an increasingly annoyed USA another chit.

Italy takes a naval move, Japan and Germany land moves.

This is a good sized Vichy Army. Not that we trust the French just yet. Curious to see units attached to Georges turn white and those attached to Pretelat drab green, aesthetically pleasing though this is.

Il Duce simply cannot resist the colonial Indian and South African troops in transit in the Eastern Med.

But a large Italian fleet and some air units cannot locate them.

Japanese Nells raid Kweiyang and score a bullseye.

German and Japanese land units shuffle around but there is no land combat in the bad weather.

The weather improves in the Med with a 4 as the impulse ends.

AXIS #7 NOV/DEC 1940

In the Allied impulse Wellington bombers raided Lille, destroying a German production point. The intercepting Bf109E7, best fighter in the Luftwaffe, was shot down by some biplane from an RN carrier in the North Sea, which rolled 2 in combat. Humiliating.

German decisions about South Dobruja and Transylvania caused the USSR, with some surprise, to align Bulgaria. Whether this was the best play by Germany remains to be seen, but Rumania joined the Axis as a full ally as all three Axis powers chose land actions.

In the only attack, Yamamoto and a Japanese militia destroyed Chinese Communist partisans occupying resources, despite a poor roll in the rain.
