AXIS #9 MAR/APR 1942

Japan closes the Burma Road at long last. No point appeasing now.

Japan and Italy combined, Germany land.

Only naval search to find is Bay of Bengal 3, 8. Carrier planes kill both CW cps.

The Germans advance cautiously in Ukraine, the weather is appalling.

Stalino and a red factory not yet railed out by the Soviets (who have diligently protected their factories) are taken, and Berdiansk.

AXIS #3 MAY/JUN 42

Allies won the initiative, despite an Axis re roll. Oh look a huge Yankee fleet in my home town port. The CVs parked in Spithead, presumably.

This hostile action is deplorable, and allows the deployment of an RN fleet to the Western Indian Ocean to confront the Japanese.

The Japanese keep their main fleets in port (though one still sails in S China Sea) but pursue Allied convoys in the Western Pacific.

They find in the Coral Sea and destroy both cps.

Stukas hit all 3 units defending the Sevastopol fortress.

Air combat in southern Ukraine sees a German FW190 destroyed (a 20 roll) but the Stukas get through to hit 1 from 3 Soviet units in a stack across the Don River.

In China, Yamamoto's army group continues to hammer at the isolated Maoists.

Another German attack on the road to Moscow is, thankfully, automatic. As is the Italian invasion of out of supply Cyprus.

The USA has declared war on Germany and Italy. They launch an audacious invasion on the west coast of France.

Germany and Italy land, Japan combined.

The supporting Allied fleet is huge, but they have blown all their carrier planes and need a port as they lack amphs.

The German response is careful. La Rochelle and Nantes are garrisoned, Von Leeb moves south to take charge.

The Germans move a MOT to stop the Allied bridgehead quickly occupying Bordeaux. Luftwaffe assets arrive to offer ground support against any break out attempt.

Japanese naval searches all fail, as does an attempt to destroy the trapped communist units near Yenan.

Elsewhere, garrison forces in Batavia and Rangoon are strengthened.

The Germans in Russia are slowed by early summer rains in the north. A single attack is launched against a disorganised and out of supply unit left behind by the Red Army's retreat.

Haven't posted an update in a bit but thought this was worthy of one. After the Allies initial landing, and after the Axis tried to limit their breakout, Wavell and Eisenhower confer and launch an attack on the port city of La Rochelle. German bombers take to the sky to try and limit this assault but they have no fighter escort and the Brits had a nice fat 6 str fighter to spank them from the skies, killing one and aborting another. The attack goes off as planned, giving the allies a port to unload more troops.

Yes Vichy is still neutral. And Bordeaux will belong to the Allies in the next impulse if all goes well.

I thought only blue factories could be railed? Have I been playing this wrong all along?

No. RAW:

Factories
You can rail move any blue factory ....

But having said this, I've never tried to railmove a red factory...
