Manstein pulls back a little to the east as a new Red Army gathers strength. Von Leeb has railed out to assist and develop a reserve.

There will be further battles on the Russian plains this summer.

Those Allied rocket FTRs are worth a lot more as bombers....getting just one through would have won the ground battle for them.

I have never before been able to rail units from Europe to Alexandria: Turkey, Vichy Syria, Italian Palestine. D'Aosta has come from Genoa. How cool.

There is no time to develop a Libyan rail network, unfortunately.

Rommel receives reports that Allied forces are consolidating on the east bank of the Seine.

A dash to Normandy may not be necessary. He pivots north and attacks, despite the weather.

There is a major air combat west of Brussels.

At times the Germans have not had the best of the dice.

No complaints this time, Rommel gets lucky but can't exploit the breakthrough.

There is a danger that the armies of Wavell and Clark will be divided.

But the fleet's main strength can't help Yamashita make an impression on the Calcutta garrison.

Another decent result for the Axis who have rolled well in combat this impulse: no losses.

Germany will not make the historic mistake of refusing to cede gained territory in Russia.

Manstein rationalises his line as Red Army v2.0 gathers strength and weather protects the Muscovy pocket, tying down the Wehrmacht's main force.

Turn ends on a 2.

Partisans in Debrecen, Hungary (ZOC of Budapest garrison protects the resource now), and Hanoi, which robs Japan of a resource.

Significant casualties again for USA, the Luftwaffe, the RAF.

A long and hard fought aerial combat. Neither side was prepared to abort at any stage.

The German bombers get through but the Axis lose two fighters.

All but one Allied bomber cleared at the cost of one fighter destroyed, more Allied air to ground factors than could affect the combat.
