The sounds to this new game are excellent! I particularly like the various MG/Rifle sounds- and the flamethrowers! Great stuff! (Screaming enemy would have been a coup de grace); I did notice some sounds are strikingly similar to Talonsoft's East Front/West Front series...I think it is great that they let you use their stuff!! Sound files were done by Scott Grasse and Jon Johnson and a host of others who contributed. It was part of the team effort to make it better. I like the M-1 sound when the empty clip kicks out of the chamber. Its so good you can identify particular weapons now by the sounds. That was not true before. Yes great work with the sound. But there should be a different sound for the german CMG and BMG. They and the LMG and some TMGs sounds are the same. The vehicle moving-sounds are IMO too loud. The background "music" should be more far away. Btw: All MGs do now a horrible job. So my infantry only moves from building to building or rough to rough or in trees. The AI should be more careful with his troops. Harry

I too love the new sounds and I´m damn glad Talonsoft allowed to use and adapt them. Thanks to Scott Grasse and Jon Johnson for doing this. Great work guys. Cool to have the game on my Windows system. Looking expectant to your future projects. Thumbs up!

Actually we bought sound libraries from Sound America (www.sound-ideas.com). I think Talonsoft uses some of the same libraries, the TOAW soundtrack music for instance comes from this. Scott and Jon also sampled sounds from lots of sources (ie TV shows, movie soundtracks, and some live sampling) and combined them and edited them, but we have tried NOT to use sounds directly from other games. We did use some sound files as "placeholders" in testing that did come from other games, with the intent that they would be replaced by our sounds before the game was released. We will double check that some of these sounds were not inadvertantly released in the game, and if we find any, will replace them. It is not our intent to use anybody else's sounds without permission. Please notify us via the bug report email the the respective sound files if you think there are exact dupes, though in the case of Campaign and TAOW sounds, we may well have used or edited files from the same source library and thus came up with some that are very similar... But again if you think there are other sounds that seem "too close" please let us know so we can replace them.

sounds are great but....i would prefer just one sound for a particular tank main gun, Panzerschrek, ecxt ect.. not 3or 4 different ones for a particular weapon, and the artillery barrage sound goes a little long i believe, causes my sounds to start skipping but most are GGREEEEEAAAT!!! I think you got the 'vehicle destruction' noise from 'Saving Private Ryan', right? The scene where they blow up the halftrack. Cool! I too have had some trouble with the artillery noise. I almost never get a shell screech as it comes in, and the booms seem out of synch.
