They get thru, but are easily handled by flak...not that their bombs would do anything.

Butchers bill. Japanese pilots are in general pretty poor skill wise, and the Nicks were low experience too. But they did good.

Big tank battle, unfortunately the Soviets smash IJA tanks everyday with 100 IL-2. Might hold one more attack and then there are so many avenues of Soviet advance that the rest Korea can't hold.

She at least torpedoed a CL first and then pretty much by her lonesome fought the superior Allied ships. A glorious death!

The Dinah is featured in several night actions. No damage scored despite the very low altitude. Japan simply doesn't have the defense capability to counter this tactic this early. The Allies would rack up the points at the manpower centers of Honshu should he venture there.

Off the southern coast of Formosa....the torpedo boats score, but next up will be Yamato...heavily outgunned. Can she sneak in and unload with her 46cm guns and retreat before being punished heavily?

The TB caused a collision between a battleship and a destroyer...that had to hurt!

But the Allied screening battleships are pulled out of position by the torpedo boat squadron, and the Yamato, ever the wolf, slides into combat with the Allied Deathstar, her monster batteries pummeling the Allied fleet!

Can she escape retribution?

Not often in my years of playing, and reading forum AARs, have I come across surface engagements in which the carriers don't get screened or otherwise avoid taking major damage. You're pretty calm about it but that must've been one heckuva replay to watch.

Yamato escapes back ...

The Kaga joins the KB...who is undetected.

80 Allied fighters on Formosa, plus their carriers, but a 2nd carrier must be damaged enough not to have flight operations robbing the deathstar of 90 planes the bulk of which are surely fighters....

Combat report was surely intense. Yamato at 2,000 yards - run (or swim) for your lives!

It is pissing into the wind, kind of.

However, not really new...

In Dec of 1942 I got IJN BBs to close with Allied fleet carriers in the SRA in this game ultimately I sank two.

Against Wargamr I got Destroyer squadrons to torpedo Fleet Carriers on two different occasions, they didn't sink, but were knocked out of the game.

Against Tiemanj I got a CL/DD task force to close with British CV can't remember which, but I think I sank her.

Never got the chance with Jocke...although I did get him good with a sub ambush.

Ultimately a bit disappointing...Yamato had shots at every carrier except Hornet, and the torpedo spread launched at 3k all missed...

Lot of shells left unfired...

They must have thought they were British BB TF and allowed them to close to knife fighting range when they opened up on the stunned carrier TF escorts.
