So,this is the first time since Soviet activation, that I opened up a dummy game to peak at their TOE. I had hoped that the Soviet Army withdraw happened sooner than November, but... So, whither Japan now? Some potent offensive tools have been added,or will shortly be added to Japan. The Type 1 medium tank, the 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions, the A6M3, Tojo IIa, Nick A, Rufe, and looking a little further down the road the Yamoto and the J2M2 Jack and even the Oscar IIa. Unfortunately, I plan on being boring. Hopefully fighting to a stalemate on Malaya and Manchuko, while cleaning up Luzon and Mindanao and then moving on to Java and tackling Sumatra and Malaya last. In China, I think the 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions will rail over and help with the conquest of the Changsha production triangle, and or the Sian line to northern China. The Pacific will see the Wake Island, Northern New Guinea, to eastern Aleutians held -- no further progress here. I looked at theElf's and Alfred's excellent advice, but I was not in position either materially or by skillset to pull it off in a scenario one game. My shortcomings. My plane builds and r&d was all wrong given the Soviet activation, and I have had a 3-400 fighter plane deficit for most of the game. On the plus side, my Betty/Nell pilots are excellent and at full strength, as is the Army bombing force although a lot of it is restricted to China and Manchuko. The Americans have lost two fleet carriers and Japan one light carrier... So cleanup where I can, grab economic production in China, establish a perimeter on Manchuko and Malaya, move on Java and then tackle Malaya by constricting the line of supply there and attempt to whittle down Soviet pools whenever possible. So what is the goal...to last as long as possible.
