Can't seem to find a way to win on this battle, my last battle I captured the 3 victory points, and killed 3 or 4 of there tanks, with no losses to mine. Any advice on tank warfare? I shoot a lot of the tanks but no kills. Do I loop around the soviet tanks? What do I do?

Try to get flank shots. Stop before firing otherwise be in motion to minimize losses. This is a tough one.

Would be nice if tanks that retained their fire were allowed to restart instead.

I recall this as a tough scenario for the Germans: playing the Russians will drive you mad as you try to keep them moving, but they have the KVs .

Some extra advice:
- go CE: this will allow you using the road movement rate (which is especially advantageous for the 231s) and give your fire greater accuracy by negating the "buttoned up" penalty (most Russian tanks must fight BU anyway, and the AI never goes CE)(*).
- if at all possible, try engaging Russians at longer ranges (7-12 hexes): the 45mm can easily penetrate any German AFV, so it's better not being hit rather than relying on your armor.
- keep APCR/HEAT rounds for the KVs: you do not need them to deal with BTs and T-26s.
- PzIVs, being intended for infantry support, have a limited supply of AP rounds: do not waste them on low-chance hits.

EXTRA NOTE: the PzII cannot fire its MA/CMG when CE, but the Sd Kfz 231 can, even though the latter also has a 1-man turret. Is there any reason I fail to see for this different treatment?

The PSW 231 (6 wheeler) and (8 wheeler) are not one man turret, they have slow traverse gun type...hence why they can fire while crew exposed.

Thanks for the clarification, Peter!

I played scenario 8 and it is possible to win with the Germans, even though it's not easy.
I managed to kill 14 Russian AFVs, including - with a stroke of Luck that will make Rico happy - both KVs. I briefly saw a T-34/76, but it disappeared and never showed up anymore (I didn't miss it, anyway).
German losses amounted to 5 AFVs: 1 PzIII F, 3 PzIII G, 1 Pz IV D.

This is for Rico:

==================================================== FIRE ==================================================

Source HEX: [ 23, 24 ]   >>> FIRE VS >>>   Target HEX: [ 19, 16 ] [9 hexes]

[GE] PzKpfw IIIG ID#: 28 firing with 50mm

Armor Piercing Composite Rigid is no longer available.
REAR HULL PENETRATION

[RU] KV-1 M39/40 ID#: 6  has been eliminated  in HEX: [ 19, 16 ]

[GE] PzKpfw IIIG ID#: 28 MA does not keep its ROF

==================================================== FIRE ==================================================

Source HEX: [ 14, 12 ]   >>> FIRE VS >>>   Target HEX: [ 17, 15 ] [4 hexes]

[GE] PzKpfw IIIF ID#: 15 firing with 37mm

FRONT HULL PENETRATION

[RU] KV-1 M39/40 ID#: 0  has been eliminated  in HEX: [ 17, 15 ]

[GE] PzKpfw IIIF ID#: 15 MA Keeps its ROF

I tried playing the Russians and I (barely) achieved a Draw, killing 8 German AFV and losing 10.

Besides a BT-7 M37 which killed a Pz IIIG, a Pz II and a Sd Kfz in a single fire segment , most Russian AFV spent the game either "Not in contact" or, worse, OOC, providing the German with a nice selection of passive targets . Unfortunately, this also included the KVs, which didn't perform as I hoped.

Why make a tank into a department store?

Stalin's remark about the SMK heavy tank (which only had three turrets ).
