A new version (1d) of this scenario has been uploaded to the VR Designs scenario bank.

Several alterations and additions have been made to improve the playing experience without upsetting the balance or feel of the scenario.

A new game manual, incorporating the changes made to the scenario, will be released as soon as possible.

The following lists the changes made in version 1d:

1. Removed bridge extending into sea at 93, 88.

2. Heavy paratroopers set to show in TO&E.

3. Flak given improved effectiveness vs. air units.

4. Research screen text for staff now shows this research is free for SS if Germany researches it first.

5. Slightly reduced severity of first Russian winter so that German units regain full effectiveness in April instead of May.

6. Slightly reduced combat strength of Russian and Yugoslavian partisans.

7. New SS units gain experience faster and reach higher base experience than other Regimes (this is basic training experience without engaging in combat).

8. Removed several hundred redundant pre-defined units in the units screen in the editor.

9. The SS receives an action card in July 1941 that allows it to transfer its Synthetic oil plant to Germany, or to reclaim it from German control, allowing Germany and the SS to optimize their oil distribution.

10. SS units near Russian front now start on rail lines.

11. Simplified scientist usage in that they can now only be created by a scientist card played on a friendly home-country research centre.

12. Captured research centres now produce fewer political points: 75 per turn instead of 150.

13. Spain and Turkey no longer receive scientist cards.

14. Playing a Scientist card on a capital yields an instant 400 PP, not 500 PP as previously.

15. Removed superfluous flags from the NATO counters screen and added symbol for horse artillery. Several fuzzy large NATO graphics made sharp and clear.

16. Reduced research cost of torpedo bombers and staff.

17. Added event to preselect hex or unit for a few action cards.

18. Corrected bug that was allowing sea mine attacks to be carried out on land/port hexes.

19. Added port for Montreal.

20. Reduced cost of upgrading some units – mostly infantry – to ease the demands on supply. Updated the appropriate tab in the scenario brief with the new values.

21. New technology strategic bombers cannot be built as early as previously. Level II strategic bombers cannot be built before 1942, Level III in 1943, etc.

22. Germany cannot build a V-Weapons base to begin V-weapons research until 1942. V-Weapons bombing damage increased.

23. Various countries given a few more: Trains in Supreme HQs, engineers in engineer units, Italian and CW air units in North Africa.

24. Increased defensive strength of unique US-built Russian-people rail transport unit.

25. Italy is given the opportunity to build a resource centre in Italy if they lose control of their Libyan oil well to the Allies.

26. Restored ability of German engineers to build railroads in May 1941 turn (previous prohibition could cause crash).

27. Unusable action cards that were dealt in May now dealt in June.

28. Reduced the PP cost of playing many action cards. The drain they impose on PPs is now lessened.

29. Fixed bug in event that checked number of German Blitz cards being dealt; Germany now receives the correct amount.

30. Limited number of Intelligence cards that a Regime can accumulate to six (If they were not being used they were filling up the screen).

31. Message accompanies play of British or German French Partisan card so you know it is doing something.

32. Removed the optional rule allowing Germany to start the game with extra ore and oil. New option added, see item 35 below.

33. Axis Minors are given an early message reminding them to gift oil to Germany.

34. Message in October 1941 reminds major Regimes who have not improved their oil wells and mines to do so or risk falling behind.

35. Britain, the US, Germany, Italy and Russia have been given a supply reserve which they can draw on in three batches via action cards. Playing the card triggers warning messages about the dangers of low supply and suggests ways to remedy it. This is an optional rule. Recommendation is to use it unless players have played the Scenario before and agree to uncheck it.

36. The Russian city of Krasnodar has been demoted from a major city to a minor city.

37. Minor changes to river line around Tula.

38. Once their troops have acquired some kills, an extra hex is added to SS territory, giving them space to build another factory.

39. Added Self-propelled anti-aircraft type unit levels I-IV (fast track movement, armour class unit).

40. German and SS blitz card playable on armour, removed requirement of a certain number of tanks being present (there still is a range of strength eligible units must meet).

41. Occurrence of French partisans slightly more likely.

40. Corrected inconsistent use of scout/armoured cars by Britain and Commonwealth.

41. Katyusha given correct (truck) sound when moving.

42. Corrected one German air recon that had Allied people.
