*Spoilers*

The first scenario in the Chains of War campaign. A fairly straightforward spoiling attack by South Korea against North Korea. Targets at first are artillery sites and support units threatening SK garrisons on Yeonpyeong and Baengnyeong islands, with instructions to follow on against other threats that may pop up, especially any that could threaten civil centers.

A straightforward and fairly easy scenario. I enjoy the privilege of being able to initiate hostilities and get to use about half of the ROKN and ROKAF to knock out my targets. I'm restricted to only the southwest portion of the country, meaning there are some assets (namely long range SAMs and airbases) in the restricted zone that can annoy me.

My preparations were spoiled when a NK MiG-23 wandered too near my CAP, which fired on him. After that it was a scramble to get my garrison artillery firing on their guns before they opened up. Not entirely sure why, but the initial DPRK coastal guns and missiles never did fire back at my garrison. Scrambled F-16s were able to assist in suppressing these guns, thanks to their ability to fly at afterburner the entire trip.

The DPRK navy stood no chance against mine. Initial ships were sunk by ASHM, as were follow on ships sortied from coastal ports. A ring of my submarines sat off their sub base on the west, and those too died quickly (even caught one on the surface with a harpoon).

Only a couple surprises that required me to deal with them quickly. My Global Hawk got a sniff of some movement deep from the coast, which turned out to be some long range Koksan artillery guns. They opened up on Yeongpyong which could not answer back, but before long I had KF-16s overhead. At the other island, a pair of Grad MLRS battalions salvoed, destroying a building. More KF-16s and artillery wiped these out. The final tasking was to locate a SCUD unit preparing to fire, somewhere in the middle of the country. A transiting KF-16 (heading to a search block near but not including the unit) actually spotted it with it's targeting pod. They were easily destroyed from that point.

Lost at least one jet to a lucky MiG-23 pilot, the rest were from KN-06 SAMs near Pyongyang. One unlucky pilot dove for the deck defensively in one KN-06 launch, only to wind up right on top of a MANPADs unit. A direct hit to the cockpit knocked him out. I wish I could have set a hard deck, there was no shortage of MANPADs units down low.

The mission achieved it's intent of showing how the South Koreans can stomp the North Koreans now without US assistance. I'm excited for the rest of the campaign!

*One annoyance: After earning the minimum score, the mission kept trying to end when there was still plenty to do. Every time I killed a target thereafter, the scenario end scene would pop up. Is there any way to disable it, or add a "keep playing" option?*

Triumph, Your final score is: 4800
