USS Arizona (BB-39). It was the only one with all turret tops painted red. Pennsylvania had 2 white and 1 blue.

Man you guys are good. Correct.

Anything other than the red turret tops that would be different from the Pennsylvania?

Yes - the name plate on her stern.

I kinda thought that "Nimitz Class" placard just to the left of the bow wasn't quite right!

I was thinking (because of the slot in the upper tube) it is a mechanism to mate a shell with its brass cartridge casing.

It appears to have hydraulics, maybe it's part of a gun elevation/training mechanism? And that is just a wild guess, never seen anything like that before.

OK...a hint.

Let's just say that I'm disappointed ASW1Steve didn't have a more personal insight into this.

Sounds like you are hinting that it is a sonar transducer ...

1st , it's AW-1Steve (you sound like Graffin...she always calls me that). 2nd , It looks nothing like any article of gear that I've ever come across. 3rd, the only ship I've ever been assigned to was the USS Constitution and that was only a TAD for a weekend . So unless it was part of a P-3 that I've never seen before , I have absolutely no idea. It looks like the top half of a B-17 belly turret , or something that resembles a submarines trash ejector (apologies to any bubble head , but like I said , "no habla boat speak".

Nope. I'm outright saying it here: it's not a sonar transducer.
