Close but wrong. AT sometime in it's life it MIGHT have been a TU-95 , although It more likely was new construction. It has a new designation , and I'll accept either the NATO number or Russian. Here's a hint. IN theory NATO should have RENAMED it something in the "M" serious as in Madge , Mainstay and Mail. But when it came out NATO didn't know if it was still a MULTI-purpose aircraft , one of those purposes being a bomber.

Tu-142M Bear F

Yea that tail looks like it, i get the two confused Tu-95/Tu-142

I'm still mad at you! Stay in the corner DUNCE! P-8 Poseidon indeed!

Tu-142M Bear F

Correct! Can anyone tell me what a "Bear F' is used for? Compared with say the TU-95 or TU-142H ?

Its the Maritime recon/ASW version.

Correct. The 95 is a strategic bomber , the 142H is a cruise missile carrier.

I agree completely! Does a P-3C look anything like a 737 in grey paint?

I was going off what I could remember, without looking it up. I could have said "C47 extended version with a Earl Scheib's paint job."

The Do 335 with 112 on tail was an A-12 Trainer with Werknummer 240112. Postwar it was allocated to the UK and received Air Ministry serial AM223, it crashed in 1946.

The former SECNAV declared these "ships" as Frigates. Mainly because he was tired of hearing crews describe them a "Little Crappy Ships". Would you rather serve on a Cruiser, destroyer or frigate , or a Littoral Combat Ship?

No. Wait. That was the idle threat imposed upon Goose and Maverick, wasn't it?
