The USA finally got a turn...yeah....not much to do but I did it. New turn is in dropbox.

Just set up TOE's.

MEMO to creator (whose name I cannot remember right now--IC??): Somehow get officers into game...would be nice...not just names on units. huh, if not it would still be okay--great scenario design.

My intention was to finish the basic game design and allow time for a few playtests to occur. Which takes a while with this scenario .

I am playing a fast-moving 2-player game currently and am also working on a system to limit the factory and fortress spamming which the scenario currently allows.

After that adding officers will be a distinct possibility, especially if other players express an interest

Germany: juni 1941

Operation Barbarossa kicked of and it was a success.
We managed to break the Russian line on multiple places and surround many troops.
Our losses were light compared to the Russians
The Russian Air-force got hit hard and we lost only a few.

Of the coast of Norway our U-Boots ran into a Allied Destroyer and Subs screen. Our Air defends managed to sink two subs for no losses.

Germany: augustus 1941

Ostfront:

We started to eliminate the surrounded Russian troops. The Russian army retreats behind the their big rivers and build bunker-lines to stop our advance. After a good kick off of operation Barbarossa we now slowly but surely get in to hard fighting.

North: the Russian defences are strong around Riga and to the south. My 2 army drives south along the Dauvaga river and finds a spot not too well defended and managed to get across. The 4 army to bypasses Minsk to the north and links up to the 3 and 6 who pass too south of the city, surrounding it and the troops in it.

Mitte: 7 army races to the Dnieper river north of Kiev, trying to bypassing the Pripet marches. 9 army reaches Kiev but heavy defences are already inplace, look at those bunkers. The Russian army has turns its back and leafs the troops surrounded in the Kapedian mountains. The 10 and 12 army follow in its tracks.

South: The Russian army has retreated behind the Bug river and even left Odessa. The 11 army manages to cross the river and reaches Kirovograd.

Sudfront
Our allies give GB schipping a hard time

Westfront
Our U-Boots stumbled again on a GB sub of the coast of Norway. Our Luftwaffe promptly sunk it.

Operation Barbarossa

The first major counter offensive from Russian forces.
The attack kills the advanced spearhead of the 11 arm near Kirovograd.
It was executed very good and should be a warning that the Russian can hit us hard now

Ostfront

Despite the heavy resistance our armies try to move forwards and try to break the Russian bear.

HrsGrpp nord: The 2 army experienced some counter actions but managed to hold their ground. Now it and the 4 army began to enlarge the bridgehead and met fierce resistance. An opportunity presented itself in an unguarded airfield slightly to the north. Witch was promptly taken by a small armed unit. (6 fighters and some bombers destroyed)

HrsGrpp mitte: The 3 and 6 armies take Minsk. Not only did the Russian army breakthrough the encirclement but they all retreated and left Minsk and its bunkers for the take. We follow the retreating armies and continue our attack towards now the Dnieper River

HrsGrpp Oekraine: The 7 army keeps pushing towards the Dnieper River despite fierce resistance.

HrsGrpp sud: The 11 now together with the 12 army try again to cross the Bugg River. This time we managed to take Kirovograd

Sudfront:
We participate with our Allies in counter attacking the enemy on Crete.

Westfront:
Some engagements between Allied destroyers, German U-Boots and the luftwaffe in the gulf of Biscayne.

Nordfront:
Also here some battles between Allied destroyers, German U-Boots and the luftwaffe of the coast of Norway

A note
I am a bit frustrated by the fact that i have so many planes on the front in Russia (range ok, supplied, good readiness and so on) but hardly some of them are intercepting anyone. In this setup of the game whit no E-mail protection I think they should be intercepting always when the conditions are met.

Again we loss ground in the South but our armies were able to hold the riverbanks across despite our losses
HrsGrpp nord was also able to hang on to the riverbanks but just.
HrsGrpp mitte and Oekraine got mostly some visits from the Russian airforce.

Ostfront

HrsGrpp nord: The 4 and3 army keep pressuring towards Smolensk, but it is hard.

HrsGrpp mitte: The 6 army managed to cross the Dnieper River, this move posses a tread to Russian units defending the road to Smolensk. Will they stay and fight?

HrsGrpp Oekraine: The 7 Army crosses the River and for the first time the SS engage the Russians and take Gomel airfield.

HrsGrpp sud: the 11 and 12 Armies try to break out of their bridgehead but there are so many strong units that it is hard to beat them. We wern't able to take the city this time.

Sudfront

Still assisting our Allies in defending the Eastern Med.

Westfront

More contacts and battles in de Gulf of Biskay

Nordfront

A large number of subs and destroyers are discovered to and in the passage to the North Atlantic.
Some of them were engaged with some success.

The Russian army tries hard to block and/or trough-back my spearheads.
but some of my units are holding their ground despite heavy losses

two images show aerial attacks but non of my planes intercept, despite they are very close by and ready.

Ostfront:
HrsGrpp nord: very hard opposition and almost a stand still. Riga and the terrain going south is heavily fortified and occupied. The 3 and 4 armies try to cross the rivers an bypass the defends lines.
HrsGrpp mitte: Despite heavy losses some units managed to hold ground on the enemies riverside. Now the 5 and 6 armies move in and incircle some units south of them.
HrsGrpp Oekraine: The 7 army succeeds to breakthrough north of Kiev and then turns south.
HrsGrpp sud: The 12 army manages to take Kirovograd again and then turns north. They meet the 7 army just east of Kiev, thereby encircling Kiev. The 11 army take up positions east of Kirovograd.

Sudfront:
support our allies with Crete

Westfront:
Battle for the shipping lines continue

Nordfront:
The North Atlantic see some engagements

Ostfront: Winter has arrived with snow in the nord and mud in the south and so stopping my all out offensive.

HrsGrpp nord: A major counter strike on my 2de PzArmy and depleting them. It forced me to take them out of the front-line and back over the river so they can be reinforced and supplied.

HrsGrpp mitte: The 5 and 6 army are moving closer to Smolensk but aren't able to do any major engagements.

HrsGrpp Oekraine: the 7 army expands here bridgehead further towards and in the rear of Kiev
and the SS covers her left flank. Look at those bunkers, this will be a tremendous task.

HrsGrpp sud: Here is the only place with no snow or mud. The 11 and 12 army who retreated to some fierce counter attacks but managed to hold on to their bridgehead, take Korovograde again. This time we want to hold it. In the process we were able to destroy some crucial bunkers on the way to Kiev. This advance together with that of the 7 army narrows down the lifeline for Kiev.

Additional we did some heavy aerial attacks on big troop-concentrations with mixed success.

I might make some AA reports to tell the story from my side, I didnt want to give too much details, of how critical things really were in some places to not encourage even more breakthroughs but im temped to do it, I learned alot playing this game.

You just have to do it.
it's fun and with the option of hex colouring and units clocked you are not giving away to much.
My inspiration/example is the item on top of the AAR forum "George vs. Seille - A Russia 1941 AAR over 60 turns"
