Mmmhh, forgot to take screenshots of the xalinas game. T8 sitrep: - Leningrad... did a LEFT hook as his defense of the Luga, Novgorod and south of lake Ilmen was just too strong. I saw a weakness on the western end of the Luga line though and exploited that the last couple of turns. The first urban hex of Leningrad fell this turn (the most SW hex with level 4 fort), after a massive assault from 3 sides. Panzers have a ZOC on Schlusselburg and 10 divisions on the Luga line have now been surrounded. So all in all a successful turn. - Moscow... still only around Rzhev-Vyazma-Bryansk (not inclusive!), so unlikely I'll get Moscow this summer. He retreated some 4 hexes so all I could do was roll up and get ready for assault next turn, if he doesn't fall back again. Panzers seeped through his lines a couple of hexes. Around Bryansk 2 panzer corps are opening up the southern flank. Also the northern flank between Rzhev and Valdai hills is weak. I put a motorized division across the river there to perhaps exploit that way next turn. Only 2 divisions pocketed here in the Center. So tempted to do a couple HQ BUs here to make a bigger advance and pockets, but it's not to be. - South... across the lower Dnepr in force to envelope strong defensive positions from Z-town to D-town. Kiev feel quickly around turn 5 I think and this turn Pavlovo fell. His position between Pavlovo and D-town is strong but becoming dangerous now. 6 divisions trapped, to be pocketed next turn. - Industry... not sure what his plan is here as I ZOC a lot of cities with most/all industry in it still. We're playing Barbarossa scenario so not so important I guess. - Leaders... some big guns have been given command of corps the last couple of turns; Weiss, Rendulic, Balck, Nehring, etc. Still not running out of options to spend AP on. Again, too long term for the Barbarossa scenario probably. Will try to remember to take a screenie next turn.
