I played the game A LOT with version 1.00 and 1.01. I'm now playing it once again and used 1.08 and even 1.09 versions. The game and strategy has changed greatly.

In the older versions as Axis I could win no matter the difficulty and I usually had enough MPP to do research, diplomacy and unit buys for just about anything I really wanted. Now I have to budget my buys and pick units or research.

Naval war has changed. Subs are stronger and I can now risk sending them out to raid or even attack units in port. In the older versions I retreated all ships and didn't even get into a naval fight till after France falls and I had a maritime bomber.

Air power is both stronger yet weaker. Fighter ranges have changed due to supply and bombers got a little stronger (but 1.09 is making them weaker.

I used to push the Italian troops forward in NA and hold till the Afrika Korps came but now they get hit hard by UK.

Barbarossa was easier but now the SU has more MPP to defend with.

I guess it's time to play the heck out of the game once again to learn new and better strategies. The hardest part I think will be deciding what to do and build through the fall of France s Germany can't do it all now.
